Just a reminder, we are currently in a burn ban.

🚫 Burn Ban Update – Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department 🚫

The Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind residents that we are still under a burn ban until at least March 27.

Please note: this does not necessarily mean the ban will be lifted at that time. Improved weather conditions are required before any open burning can safely resume.

After witnessing the destruction caused by recent fires in western Nebraska, we are reminded just how critical it is to remain diligent and cautious during these extremely dry conditions.

As previously announced, the State of Nebraska issued an Executive Order banning all Open Burn Permits:

No burn permits can be issued for any purpose

Any previously issued permits that have not been completed are null and void

Open burning is not allowed during this period

State officials will review conditions before March 27 to determine if the ban needs to be extended. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work together to keep our community safe during these dangerous fire conditions.
