🔧 2011 Ford F-150 – Brake Fluid Flush & Replacement! 🛻
Did you know that brake fluid doesn’t last forever?
Today at Mr. B’s Automotive, I performed a complete brake fluid flush on this 2011 Ford F-150, removing the old fluid and replacing it with fresh brake fluid that meets the manufacturer’s specifications.
🔍 Why is brake fluid maintenance important?
Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it naturally absorbs moisture over time. As moisture builds up, it can lead to:
🔹 Internal Corrosion – Moisture can cause corrosion inside brake lines, calipers, and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) components.
🔹 Reduced Boiling Point – Contaminated brake fluid has a lower boiling point, increasing the risk of brake fade during heavy or prolonged braking.
🔹 Expensive Repairs – Neglected brake fluid can contribute to premature deterioration of hydraulic braking components.
🔹 Decreased Reliability – Maintaining clean brake fluid helps protect the hydraulic braking system and supports consistent braking performance.
🛠️ What does a brake fluid flush involve?
✅ Removing old brake fluid from the hydraulic system.
✅ Replacing it with fresh, manufacturer-approved brake fluid.
✅ Bleeding the brake system to remove old fluid and prevent trapped air.
✅ Verifying proper brake pedal operation.
💡 When was the last time your brake fluid was checked?
Brake fluid condition is often overlooked during routine maintenance. Testing its moisture content and inspecting its condition can help determine whether replacement is necessary.
At Mr. B’s Automotive, I believe preventive maintenance is far less expensive than waiting for a major component to fail.
