99-2006 Twin Cam owners, this one made it 38k miles before the outer cam chain tensioner retired into the pieces laying in the box. Upgrading the cam-plate and oil pump to the 2007 & later "hydraulically-fed" tensioner design is the solution for more mileage and less component fatigue. Higher oil pressure & volume is inherent in the upgrade kits we install, whether its S&S, Feuling, or Screaming Eagle. The power delivery of this 2005 Screaming Eagle 103 sure makes it a fun Twin Cam to ride!

Yes, we work on Big Dogs, American Ironhorses, Titans, custom motorcycles, or any other Harley-Davidson-based application. These bikes normally have big-inch engines with wide tires that test the limits of stock components. The rake and long front-ends on them require regular steering bearing attention, as well. Rebuilding a couple of S&S carburetors, replacing neck bearings, and addressing clutch/drive issues is why these bikes came in.

Some motorcycle problems are more obvious than others. Not everybody is looking for a dry-rotted vacuum port that allows air to enter where it should not. Or maybe a rider is wondering why his rubber-mounted engine is hopping all over the place, due to a ripped engine-mounting isolator. A ticking or hissing coming from the exhaust area indicates an exhaust leak, at the least. Some riders aren't even aware that they have broken mounting studs, preventing exhaust gases from escaping like they normally should. But you and the neighbors sure know when you broke a hardened extractor inside a sensitive part on your favorite Harley-Davidson, lol. Even after removing the aluminum head from this Softail, extreme care & patience had to continue. All of these issues are resolved and fixed as if they never even happened. 2014 and later HD Touring models use larger steering neck bearings, larger fork tubes, and a different steering clamp (triple-tree) design than the 2013 and earlier Touring models. This 2015 Road Glide had a handling/steering issue that new steering bearings resolved. This 2020 Tri-Glide had a leaking fork seal that needed a new one before saturating the front brake pads, making it difficult to stop. With a job like these, an appointment gets your bike back to you the same day or the next, depending on when it arrives. Dropping off @ 8:30a.m. & picking up @ 5:30p.m. keeps your motorcycle's "downtime" to a minimum. Starting issues? Charging issues? They can be diagnosed a lot quicker than they can be fixed, but the bikes make it back on the road on time. Open stators, grounded stators, damaged rotors, and failed voltage regulators are sure to leave you stranded once battery voltage gets too low. You may be better off with a "no-start" issue that keeps your bike at the house, like this broken wire that wouldn't allow one bike to even power up.
Under the hot sun or one of these local thundershowers is no place to be while waiting on the $100 tow after your bike shuts down. If you notice your bike cranking with more difficulty after riding it, but it fires right up after sitting on the charger, it may be worth investigating the charging system.

This 27-year-old police bike had a failed head gasket that needed replacing. Front & rear cylinders and heads were removed and reconditioned & since it's a 99-2006 model, the cam chain tensioners got checked while the exhaust and footboard were out of the way, too. Cylinders, pistons, rings, valve seats, valves and valve guides all got measured and inspected before taking corrective action and assembly.
If you've got an older bike with a problem, our tech provides as much preventative maintenance as reasonably possible during the work that's already scheduled at no extra cost. This helps minimize that feeling of loss and gives the husbands something positive to tell the wives after the motorcycle troubles/ repair bill, lol.
