These POS aluminum black powder coated fuel water filter bases are the single highest "Weekend killer" that I see. What happens is the salt air and water corrode them as you can see. They generally don't let contaminate into your fuel system but the gasket sealing surface that I am pointing to allows air to get sucked into the system during mid to high RPMs. We replace every one that comes into our shop with a stainless steel replacement and it never has to be done again!

Typical complaint with this is "Everything on my dash quit working or some of the accessories or switches stopped working"
This is an assembly plug used so that the console can be pre wired before it mates to the boat where the boat harness is in place in the hull. On this brand, Carolina Skiff, the plug is not 100% waterproof allowing salt water intrusion. In their defense I see this non waterproof type on many different brands. We cut the plug out and replace it with a Deutsche brand waterproof connector. Everything works now👍💪
