🚨 TOWING SCAM ALERT — PLEASE SHARE! 🚨

Unfortunately, this is becoming more common.

An older couple recently needed towing assistance and did what most people would do — they called the first number that popped up on the search engine.

The company answering the phone pretended to be local, but was actually an out-of-area/foreign dispatch operation.

They were charged UP FRONT at nearly 3X the normal local rate.

And the worst part?

NO TOW TRUCK EVER SHOWED UP.

These companies can buy ads and listings that make them appear to be a local towing company. They take your payment, then may try to find an actual local towing company to perform the service — or, as in this case, nobody comes at all.

⚠️ Before giving anyone your credit card information:

✅ Make sure you’re calling a local 715 phone number
✅ Ask where their dispatch office is located
✅ Make sure you’re speaking with a LOCAL dispatcher
✅ Be cautious of companies demanding unusually large payments before anyone arrives
✅ Don’t assume the first result on Google or another search engine is actually local

This week was a great reminder of why we believe in supporting the community that supports us.

We were honored to host the Pattison Park Lions Club for lunch at Superior Automotive LLC and to make a donation to help them continue the incredible work they do throughout our area. Today, we were also proud to get out and support their annual golf scramble.
