⁉️ What is DOD/AFM/DFM?

It’s on demand cylinder deactivation by GM using lifter to stop and start cylinders.

Over time, the lifters and internal components start to wear down from the constant turning on and off - which causes lifters to become stuck or collapse.

⁉️ What is DFM? It's cylinder deactivation on demand by GM.

Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) oil control valves in the lifter oil manifold assembly are integrated into all eight cylinders.

This means that any one of the 8 cylinders can be deactivated, INSTEAD of just the specific four in AFM engines.

The biggest issue with active and dynamic fuel management are these systems constantly activate and deactivate. DFM calculates what ‘mode’ the engine should be in 80 times per second.

Over time, the lifters and internal components start to wear down from the constant turning on and off - which causes lifters to become stuck or collapse.

Do you have a 2007+ V6/V8 Chevrolet or GMC Truck or SUV? Are you tired of using half your engine?

Active Fuel Management (AFM) and Displacement on Demand (DoD) temporarily turn a V8 into a V4 (or a V6 into an inline-3) by deactivating cylinders, effectively cutting the engine’s displacement in half with cause issue in the long run.
