Auto Glass University provides a week long school focused on auto glass repair and replacement. It contains two full days of classroom training and a two day “hands on” installation workshop where students work in teams to remove, install and repair glass in actual vehicles. On the last day of the class, students practice windshield repairs, review the materials learned during the week and take th
e final exam. Each student is given a copy of the textbook “The Complete Guide to Auto Glass Installation” to use as a study guide during the class and to keep for future reference. AGU’s training is presented without bias by certified instructors who share their experience with each participant. The curriculum teaches the requirements set forth by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, the Auto Glass Safety Council’s AGRSS Standard for aftermarket replacements and the technician certification programs recognized by the insurance industry. AGU is sponsored by companies who recognize the value to the industry of having qualified, competent technicians. These companies may showcase their products or services away from the classroom for the benefit of students who wish to learn more. The only equipment necessary for the students to bring is a pair of safety gloves and glasses. By the end of the class students will know the components of a safe, successful installation and will be given the resources to answer subsequent follow-up questions in the field.
