This Sunday night, May 31, Angell Park Speedway will feature three exciting divisions all sharing the spotlight for the first race of the season!

The Dirt Kings Tour Late Models will battle in the King of the Park, the BMARA Racing Midgets will compete in the Dahlke Memorial, and the MSA Sprints will also be in action for a packed night of racing at “The Prairie!”

𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 & 𝗗𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘄𝗮𝘆

(Sun Prairie, WI) - This Sunday, May 31, Angell Park Speedway will host one of the biggest events of the season with the King of the Park featuring the Dirt Kings Tour Late Models, AFS Badger Midgets, and MSA 360 Sprint Cars. The evening will also feature the annual Dahlke Memorial for the AFS Badger Midgets.

The Dahlke Memorial honors BJ Dahlke and his daughter Addison, who tragically lost their lives in an automobile accident in 2022. Sunday’s event will feature the richest AFS Badger Midget purse of the season with more than $35,000 in total prize money on the line. The feature winner will take home $5,000, while every driver starting the A-Main is guaranteed at least $400.

The Dirt Kings Tour Late Models return to “The Prairie” for the King of the Park. Through the event’s history, there has yet to be a repeat winner. Brad “JJ” Mueller claimed the inaugural event in 2021 and enters Sunday as a three-time Dirt Kings Tour winner. Seven-time Dirt Kings Tour Champion Nick Anvelink added his name to the winners list in 2022, while former series champion Mike Mullen captured the most recent King of the Park victory in 2024. The event was rained out in both 2023 and 2025. Jayme Zidar currently holds the Dirt Kings Tour Late Model track record at Angell Park with a lap of 14.127 seconds.

The MSA 360 Sprint Cars will also make their first appearance of the season at Angell Park on Sunday night. Scotty Neitzel and Brandon Berth each scored victories during last season’s appearances, while Ben Schmidt is also a former winner with the series at the historic clay oval.

Pit gates are scheduled to open at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, with fan gates opening at 4:00 p.m. Hot laps and qualifying are set to begin at 5:00 p.m., with racing action to follow.

Today’s Dahlke Memorial Season Opener has been cancelled due to inclement weather due to previous and projected future rainfall.

Angell Park Speedway’s next event will be the “King of the Park” on Sunday May 31st where the Badger Midgets will honor the Dahlke family plus the Dirt King Late Models and MSA Sprints. 410 Sprint Cars will return to Angell Park when the NOS Energy World of Outlaw Sprint Cars invade “The Prairie” on June 7th. Advance Tickets: Tickets are available at the gate on Raceday. You can also skip the line on Raceday by purchasing your tickets in advance at https://angellpark.racing/tickets/

ATM: The ATM is located on the lower level of the Turn 1 Pavilion.

Camping: Camping is allowed up to 2 days prior and 1 day following a show. We ask that you camp only in parking areas outside of the perimeter fence (upper lot adjacent to Grove St. or lower lot adjacent to Park and Market St.) Please be respectful of the grounds and use designated trash receptacles. Please also be respectful of local ordinances, noise curfew, alcoholic beverages etc. Sorry no campfires.

Concessions: There’s plenty to eat and drink in the food and beverage stands located on the main concourse as well as the lower level of the Pavilion.We also have Tommy's Pit Side Eatery set up in the Pit Area.

Hall of Fame: Firemen’s Angell Park Speedway is home to the National Midget Racing Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is open during all racing events and is located on the Lower Level of the Pavilion.

Location: Angell Park Speedway is located Downtown Sun Prairie / 4 Miles North of I-94 Exit 244 / 1 Mile South of US Highway 151 Exit 103.

Pit Gate: The entrance to the pit gate is off of Park St. on the north side of the facility.

Rest Rooms: Rest Rooms are below the Main Concession Stand and on the lower level of the Pavilion in Turn 1.

Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in spectator seating areas or in the pits. Please use areas to the rear of the grandstands away from other spectators (gravel road).
