It's been a bit. Been head down trying to finish our Lotus Elan project. It came to life the other day . It was a pretty easy start as the choke is not hooked up yet. So many details to finish but we are getting close to first drive.

The Lotus Elan project is putting up a good fight. The supposedly made from original mold windshield frame took a serious amount of modification to fit the car properly. Now trying to install the windshield is requiring more modification. Test fit the old windshield with old seal and it all looked very close to drop in ready. Multiple attempts at installing new windshield led to frustration. Lay new windshield over old to discover there is a 1/4 inch height difference. Also note a very different curvature profile. Then we measured the thickness of the gasket to find the new one is substantially thicker than the original. Now modifying the window opening enough to get the new seal and window to fit. Hand made cars are so much fun!

Another day of quality parts . The holes in the lowering block for the Spitfire rear spring were not drilled the correct size for the studs to pass thru. The new in package MGA head gasket was poorly made. The spring block was modified and I had a spare gasket on the shelf.
