Bob's Full Service Station

Bob's Full Service Station Full service gas station est. in 1952 by the late Bobby Frankland Alot of pleasant parts of our pasts have fallen by the wayside. C.W was a student at McNeese.

Things such as drive-in movies, nickel candy bars, music with words that you could actually understand and not be ashamed for your Mama to hear. Those were the days of unlocked doors and windows. Those were the days of family Sunday dinners... most businesses were closed on Sunday so dad could be home. Young people didn't try to see who could think of the most outrageous place to wear a earring. T

eachers were respected by both the students and their parents. People hung the American flag out on holidays and stopped their cars for funeral processions. Lives were not controlled by the T.V schedule. Families took care of each other in times of crisis. Police were appreciated for the hard job they had and victims had rights. Jobs were more secure and a mans word was his bond. Businesses were small, locally owned and the customer was important. Not all of the good things and times are gone...at least not in Sulphur. Want to relive a little of the past? Visit us at Bob's Full Service Station on Napoleon Street. The late Robert "Bobby" Frankland and his brother C.W started the station in 1952 at their first location on Huntington Street. In 1967 the station was relocated to
Napoleon Street. Before Bobby started the full serice station he worked as a roughneck/roustabout for standoline Oil in the park, Louisiana area. Their father, beginning in the 1920s had worked for Yont Lee oil company (predecessor to Standoline which eventually became AMACO) in the Hackberry area as well as n the Longview, Texas fields. Before the Franklands opened their station at its present location there was a Cities Service station there. It was owned by Joe Bond and Cities Service and operated by Calvin "Bootsie" hebert. Before that Murl Vincent owned the property and used it to store " mud houses" used in oil field operations. The Franklands also purchased the land to the immediate west of their location from Lottie Mae (Brack) Patrick. Brack's Tourist court had been located on the property.

Watching my 4-year-old son stand beside his papa makes me realize how blessed we are to still have him here after his heart transplant. Sometimes moments like this slow you down in the fast world we live in, helping you pause and truly appreciate all the blessings God has given us.

And in those moments, I see the lessons being passed down to my four-year-old boy… learning not just how to work, but how to treat people. Even at such a young age, I see him watching, absorbing, and being shaped by moments he may not fully understand yet. My hope is that what he’s seeing today will become the foundation that grows in him tomorrow — leading him to be a Godly man who walks in integrity, humility, and purpose.

These are the same values first lived out by my grandfather, who started this station back in 1952.

He built more than a business — he built a foundation, one rooted in faith, hard work, and taking care of people. Even though he’s no longer with us, his legacy is still alive here every single day.

This place has seen a lot of life — long days, hard seasons, and many blessings along the way. Through it all, God has been faithful.

My prayer is that this same “fountain” of family generations continues to pour into my son — shaping him into a man who honors God, loves people well, and stands up for what is right.

We are truly blessed to still have papa here with us — teaching, guiding, and leading by example.

To still be here, working side by side as family and watching the next generation being formed… that’s something words can’t fully hold.

Just thankful — for where it started, for everyone who’s supported us and continues to support us, and for the chance to keep it going. It’s more than a business — it’s a legacy of family, faith, and service. David Nezat

In April of 1996, you started a small shop in the back of our house. For three decades, you’ve poured your heart into this place. You didn’t just create a store — you created a space filled with laughter, prayers, hugs, and genuine care. Your customers became family, and we’ve watched your dream grow right alongside us.

Through every busy season and every hard moment, you always put your family first while building something special for this community. You are the strongest woman I know, and your faith, love, and dedication are the foundation of it all.

Victoria’s on Oak is more than a business — it’s a reflection of your heart.

We’re so proud of you, Mom. Happy 30 years. We celebrate you and the beautiful legacy you’ve created.

Just a quick update on our Easter hours:

We will be closed tomorrow for Good Friday and will reopen Monday the 6th.

As we reflect on this Easter weekend, we’re reminded of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and the hope and new life we have through His resurrection. It’s a time to slow down, be thankful, and celebrate the love and grace of our Savior.

We truly appreciate the opportunity to serve each and every one of you. Wishing you all a blessed and joyful Easter with your families. He is risen! 🙏
