What a great night at Cruise the Square 2026!

It was great seeing so many people come together, catching up with familiar faces, and watching families enjoy a night around the square. Events like this are a great reminder of what makes our community so special.

This year is also a special one for us as we celebrate 40 years of the Thunder Truck! We recently gave the truck a completely new sound and entertainment system, and it was great seeing how much everyone enjoyed it. We think a couple of our younger visitors especially approved. They found the perfect spot in the back to kick back and watch Cars! 🚗🎬

They weren’t the only ones enjoying the movie. Chris may have been caught watching a little bit of Cars too! After all, when it was your favorite movie growing up, you have to stop and watch a few minutes!

For over 40 years, Jay’s Autoworld has been fortunate to call Sullivan home, and we’re always proud to bring the Thunder Truck out and be a part of nights like this.

A huge thank you to Mike Frey, the City of Sullivan, Sullivan City Police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, and everyone else who put in the time and work to make Cruise the Square happen. It takes a lot of people working together to make an event like this possible, and they put on a great one!

Today, we’d like to recognize an incredible milestone for someone who has dedicated so much of his life to our business and to the Sullivan community.

Congratulations to Tim Garrett on being selected as one of Camp Navigate’s 6 Over 60 honorees in partnership with WTWO. This recognition celebrates those who have made a lasting impact through their service, leadership, and commitment to others—and it couldn’t be more well deserved.

For decades, Tim has believed that a successful business should also be a business that gives back. Whether supporting local organizations, mentoring others, volunteering his time, or simply being there for anyone who needs a helping hand, he has always led by example.

A personal note from Chris…

Dad, Mom and I couldn’t be more proud of you. This honor is a reflection of the countless lives you’ve impacted and the example you’ve set for our family and our community. We know your parents are looking down with so much pride, seeing the man you’ve become and the difference you’ve made in so many people’s lives.

Last week, we said goodbye to a very special member of the Jay’s Autoworld family.

After 3 years of faithfully serving as our shop cat and self-appointed Head of Public Affairs, Seymour crossed the rainbow bridge. Whether he was greeting customers at the front door, supervising technicians in the shop, attending meetings he wasn’t invited to, or finding the warmest place in the building for a nap, Seymour always made his presence known.

In just three short years, he became a favorite of customers, employees, and visitors alike. Many people stopped by to see him, give him a few pets, and check in on what he was up to. He brought a lot of smiles to our shop and became a part of what made Jay’s Autoworld feel like home.

While the office is a little quieter now and our quality control department has lost its most dedicated inspector, his legacy will live on here. His favorite little chicken is missing its cuddle buddy, too.

Thank you to everyone who loved Seymour and made him feel special over the years.

Rest easy, buddy. You’ll always be our Head of Public Affairs. ❤️🐾

Last weekend was a special celebration honoring our office manager, Tanna, as her year serving as the American Legion Auxiliary State President is coming to an end soon. We are incredibly thankful for everything she has done for our community and for the Auxiliary over the years. It’s truly been a lifelong passion for her, and the impact she has made does not go unnoticed.

The event brought people from all over the state into our community, and it was great to see so many people come together for such a meaningful occasion.

We were also proud to see Brent, one of our body shop technicians, helping make the night even more memorable by performing with his band, The Brent & Will Show. They did an amazing job and played some great music throughout the evening.

Brent will also be playing with his full band this Sunday at the Sullivan County Park Lake starting at 8 PM.

Very thankful to have such dedicated and talented people as part of our team and community.

Chris and Tim had a great time stopping by WTWO to sit down with Julie and talk about how quickly technology is changing in the automobile industry and why it’s so important for shops to stay up to date with the latest repair procedures, equipment, and training to help keep customers safe.

They also had the opportunity to talk about the importance of giving back to the community that has supported their family business for over 40 years and why supporting local communities continues to mean so much to them.

Another great soccer season in the books! ⚽️

Chris had the opportunity to help coach this awesome group of kids while Jay’s Autoworld proudly sponsored the team. The kids even gave themselves the nickname “The Vroom Vrooms”which seemed pretty fitting for our crew. 🚗💨

From learning the game to building teamwork and confidence, this team had an amazing season and, most importantly, a lot of fun along the way. We’re proud to support local youth sports and thankful for the families and community that continue to support local businesses like ours.

Great season, Vroom Vrooms! 🏆

A fun throwback from 2011!
During a school project, students were asked to create a newspaper advertisement for a local business… and 6-year-old Chris chose Jay’s Autoworld.

Looking back now, it’s pretty special to see how much the family business already meant to him at such a young age. From drawing ads for the shop as a kid to working in the business today, some things never change.
