Today, we tackled a Yamaha four-wheeler that wouldn’t start. After thorough testing, we confirmed all circuits were working properly. Upon inspection, we discovered the starter had seized and ultimately failed.

We replaced the starter, and while we got it to start and run three times, it wouldn’t start again for a fourth. A detailed inspection revealed that the starter idler gear was missing teeth, which had led to the initial failure of the old starter and prevented the new one from turning over the engine.
