How it all started.
Projects like this are worth looking back on from a different angle.

From the earliest stages of construction through the structural work, custom fabrication, marine carpentry, paint, and finish details, every part of this build came together with one goal in mind, creating a boat that looked, felt, and performed exactly the way it should.

Seeing the progression from raw construction to the finished 49' is a reminder of just how much craftsmanship goes into a true custom build.

Every stage had a purpose.

Every detail had a reason.

And in the end, it all came together into one incredible finished boat.

This 2022 36' OBX out of North Carolina came to us partially constructed, with no plans and very little information to work from.

So we traveled to North Carolina, brought her back to our shop in Stuart, Florida, and started giving her the full Highground treatment.

The project includes complete interior cabinetry and exterior joinery, full paint, structural fiberglass work, motors, shafts, struts and rudders, along with fuel, water and vessel systems installation.

We’ve also handled tower modifications, upper control box fabrication, and the installation of the tower, hardtop and buggy top.

She’s still under construction here at the shop, but the transformation is already well underway, and she’s looking stellar.

Projects like this are exactly where experience, problem-solving and attention to detail matter most. When you’re handed an incomplete boat without a roadmap, every decision has to be made with the finished vessel in mind.

A custom boat doesn't suddenly become a boat. It happens one piece at a time.

Work continues on our new 27' cold-molded center console, and we're now fabricating the deck and forward casting platform.

The jigs for the console, leaning post and forward bench seating have been built, along with the livewell and transom closeout.

Soon comes one of the exciting parts, bringing all of these individually fabricated components together and fitting them into the boat.

This is the part of custom boatbuilding most people never get to see.
The structure. The planning. The fabrication. And all the work that happens long before the finished product ever touches the water.
