Replacing the anodes on the Coast Guard Cutter Ingham. While the Ingham is retired from service and is a museum these days, she still requires maintenance below the waterline. We replaced 15 anodes, each one weighing 42 pounds. This particular one is going on the port side strut supporting the shaft. We will be returning at a later date to replace an additional 10 anodes that weren't available that day.

It's early yet for hurricane season but some owners are proactive in preparing, especially if they're doing long-term storage. We've tried different ground anchors over the years but what we've found work best are these 3ft long, 1" thick, double-headed spikes. Going into the limestone cap rock in the Florida Keys, they generally have a holding strength of 5000lbs. Travis used to pound these in by hand -this jack hammer is a real upgrade! Once the correct number are installed, we add our connectors & straps and tighten everything down. Then we always do a final check if there's a tropical system coming our way.

Assisting this 120ft yacht anchored off Key West. With the impending cold front, the anchorage became untenable and the yacht attempted to relocate. Unfortunately, his anchor was fouled in some old cable that was on the bottom. Working with Warhorse LLC, we were able to use a combination of lift bags and brute force to free the cable from the anchor flukes, allowing the yacht to recover it and move to a sheltered marina.

Day 2 of the Key West World Championships by Race World Offshore. We were positioned again between Turns 1 & 2. It was an active day on the race course: two drivers were ejected from the cockpit at Turn 1, two boats flipped over (one after having a collision with another boat), one boat with a minor fire and several boats with regular breakdowns. This is the last day for us on the course but the races continue on Sunday. Everyone is pushing very hard to win. They say that to be the best, you have to win in Key West!
