Winter, Christmas and Montana.
Regardless of your feelings about winter weather and the Christmas Season, they are both upon us! Winter weather and all of its impacts are part of living in our beautiful state. The beautiful snow capped peaks, the brisk morning air, the slight trepidation as we approach the door in the morning, braced for the predawn chill and inevitable numb nose. Of course, many love the winter tests and trials that Montana offers, it’s a part of life here.
A Montana winter means a Montana Christmas, and this year maybe more than ever, I find myself laboring to stay rooted to the meaning. Just like the Montana winter, a Montana Christmas can have its ups and downs. So, this year I am going to work harder to make sure I stay true to the Christmas spirit, the Montana Christmas spirit. We are a little different in Montana, I believe, a little better. So I am going to endeavor to be more concerned with being a good father, husband and neighbor and a little less concerned about what is wrapped and under a tree.
So this winter, stay safe and be merry. Also, if you see one of the guys from Reed’s Auto Mart drive past waving and smiling, just wave back, because like I said, it’s Montana and it’s part of life here!
