Unacceptable.
My husband never drives my car. It’s usually me and our 1 yr old twins and 4 yr old daughter. Yesterday he took my car to run an errand. My car was in perfect condition, 2018 expedition max.. didn’t even need an oil change. When my husband started it, smoke came out of the hood, he jumped out and saw fire and ran. Within 2 minutes my car was a ball of fire. Thank you God for watching over my love on this day. God knows this is not his time, our story is not over yet. I can’t even imagine what would’ve happened if this had been me with the kids alone. I took pictures of my kids burnt up car seats with tears in my eyes. Before we bought this car, I did tons of research for months for the best car for my family. This type of thing isn’t supposed to happen. How did my car just catch on fire? I want to know. This is not ok. This is not supposed to happen.

I want to give recognition to the wonderful crew at Koons Sterling Ford, especially Samir Kerboussi! Samir and the crew went above and beyond in helping us find our perfect truck. They worked tirelessly to make sure it was outfitted just right to meet our needs. They detailed it to perfection and gave us a reasonable and fair price. The customer service by the service department at this Koons locations is atrocious. I have asked to be contacted by a manager multiple times and get no response to vmails or messages I leave with actual human beings. I have 2 issues from previous visits that need to be addressed and when making an appointment I requested 1) a loaner, stating I'm open to rescheduling if one is not available and to contact me but no one contacted me until the day before to confirm the actual appointment and I was told there was no record of a loaner being requested 2) a manager contact me as the issues were not happening for the 1st time and wanted to ensure we had a good plan this time. I would like someone from Koons leadership team to contact me about why your team is too good to contact customers. Is this the type of business Koons runs?
Koons Ford Sterling, having constant problems with servicing our car. Half a dozen promises when car would be ready, all never realized. Car in service department for three weeks! Seems to have more problems in the service department then outside the service department. Left messages for those who run the business, haven’t heard anything back. Not sure how this business stays in business.
Greetings, I have owned five Fords in my lifetime. My Father was 'a Ford Guy'. When I was 14 years old he took me with him to trade our old Ford 'station wagon' in for a new Ford station wagon. It was to be a ‘teaching moment’ for me...He could not get the deal he wanted at Sheehy Ford in Maryland so we drove way out to Virginia, to Koons Ford (I believe it was in Seven Corners, VA, and I believe at the time we met John Koons SENIOR). Somehow (much to the anger/chagrin of my step-mother, ha-ha) we left Koons Ford with a BRAND NEW 1968 FORD MUSTANG 289 COUPE! Two years later, my Dad let me take that car to the DMV to take the driving test and GET MY LICENSE! I Loved that car! Fast Forward to 2015. My son wants to purchase his first car (with Dad's co-signing help). Ford puts out the 50th Anniversary Edition Mustang. We go to Koons Ford in Sterling Virginia to have a look...of course we left with a BRAND NEW 2015 50th Anniversary Edition Mustang! My son loves his car! Ok so much for the history... The car has been great right up to September of 2017 (*note*car still under warranty) when it went in to Koons for an AC 'blowing hot air' issue. Work/service/whatever, was done to correct the problem by 'tightening' leaking hoses/lines etc., BUT NOT REPLACING THE EVAPORATOR. More on this later... Forward to March 15, 2019. The vehicle is 'out-of-warranty' by @ 1600 miles. We get a two day 'heatwave' in Virginia, I get to drive the Mustang (my son had eye surgery and I went to pick up the car) I turn on the AC and get nothing but hot air blowing out! The exact same issue as previously. I know quite a bit of time had gone by since the first 'fix' at the dealership, HOWEVER, when talking with my son, discussing if he had noticed problems (he said NO since he had not even used the AC recently BECAUSE IT WAS WINTER!) and 'doing the math' we figured that he had rarely used the AC, and at best only for a 5-6 month time frame the previous summer... That same day I take the car back to Koons Ford. After an 'AC-diagnostic' ($135.98) they call me to say THAT THE EVAPORATOR IS LEAKING, NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, AND BECAUSE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY, THE FIX WILL BE @ $2400.00!! Well, being as how the car had been in previously for THE SAME ISSUE, AND that we had bought the 'EXTENDED MAINTENACE PACKAGE' (7years, 75,000miles) at the time of purchase, AND as how we (me, my son & wife) all remember being told by the FINANCE GUY AT KOONS that "the car is covered for everything except tires", AND that a cursory search on Google for '2015 Mustang EVAPORATOR ISSUES reveals NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS about the SAME PROBLEM to the point where Ford issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB # 18-2256), AND, because I PURCHASED THREE CARS WITHIN A THREE YEAR PERIOD FROM KOONS FORD IN STERLING VIRGINIA, AND, lastly, because of course, I'm a longtime 'Ford Guy', I thought Mr/Mrs Koons or Mr/Mrs Ford would realize the value in making 'RIGHT' this 'WRONG'. Obviously I have spoken at length to the folks at Koons Ford (maybe Krystal will do one less commercial and take pity on us...) AND I have called Ford and ‘opened a case’ with them... So far I’ve been told I’m ‘SOL’ by Koons and by Ford Motor Company... My plan is to continue to vigorously pursue a positive result in this matter via whatever means available. This is a ‘teaching moment’ for my son... I would appreciate any advice from folks out there with knowledge concerning how to proceed...
I would like to thank Will Lewis and KC Schied for the smooth and fast transaction of my latest purchase of a 2019 Mustang GT yesterday. Will went above my expectations when I came in a week prior and explained my situation and informed him at the very start that I would not be purchasing a car that same day. Will still entertained me by staying after hours and test driving not just one but two cars. I would recommend all that visit to speak with him. Thank you for a pleasant car buying experience.
I had a very good experience today for a Ford Transit recall. Thought I would be there for 4 hours and was there only 2. Joey took care of me. I did not buy my vehicle there, but will go there for all my appointments. Thank you. Also, Rob Teasdale has been so helpful in the past. We have a wheelchair van totally modified and these guys actually care about my issues with this van.
