Saturday is shaping up to be one of the best days of the season, and our communities have outdone themselves. Here is what is waiting for you, west to east.

Pymatuning State Park, fall foliage pontoon rides, Saturday October 10 at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. The color from the water is something else. Advance registration is required, so call ahead.

Conneaut Lake, the 36th Annual Fall Pumpkin Fest, Friday October 9 through Sunday October 11. Thirty six years of food, vendors and everything pumpkin, put together by the Conneaut Lake Area Business Association.

Conneaut Lake Park, Phantom Park, Friday through Sunday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. right through October 31. For the ones in your house who are here for the scare.

Downtown Meadville, the 4th Annual Witch Walk, Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. If you grabbed one of the 300 tickets, you are in for a wonderful evening: a Mystic Market, fire dancers, your tarot reading and a tote designed by local artist Alyssa Maziarz. Costume and Cackle Contest judging is at 6 p.m. for ages 12 and under and 6:30 p.m. for ages 13 and up, so pick your hat accordingly. If this one slipped past you this year, everything above is wide open.

Our trees are coming into their best color right now. Whatever you choose, we hope to see you out there.

Look up! Red-tailed hawk migration is nearing its October peak. 🍂🦅

Watch for these broad-winged raptors circling high overhead, riding rising columns of warm air as they travel south. If you spot several soaring together, you may be witnessing a “kettle” of migrating hawks.
