Here’s a chance to own a bit of California history. La Dawri Coachcraft was founded by Leslie Albert Dawes in British Columbia, Canada in 1956 and is credited with making Canada's first fibreglass car, the La Dawri Cavalier. The company moved to the United States in 1957 where it became one of the largest fiberglass sports car body companies during the rebody/specials craze of the 1950s and 1960s. The company ceased operations in 1965. Its name came from a combination of L A Dawes and his friend Don Wright. Dawes was born on 7 July 1933 and died in 2002. There were less than 100 of these Conquest built. This car was said to have run approx. 9 years ago. It sits on top of a 1954 Ford chassis. It has a Y-block motor with a 4 speed behind it. It also uses the dash from the same car. The body is still in the original gel coat and has never been painted. It also comes with a brand new windshield, which is a 55-59 chevy truck turned upside down. Please dont ask if its available. If its listed it is. If you are interested, please make arrangements with me to cone see it. If it is not sold by mid November, it will be going to Washington and no longer available. Thanks for looking- Kenny
