Well, he’s casted. 4 weeks and that should heal both broken bones in the wrist. (Along with the thumb break that hasn’t fully healed).Luckily we didn’t need surgery. Thanks to everyone for all the good vibes.

Unfortunately, Max crashed today and broke two bones in his wrist.

After his crash, he couldn’t get back on his bike, and we knew right away something was very wrong. X-rays confirmed that he has fractures to both his radius and ulna near his wrist. They also showed that his thumb isn’t healing the way we had hoped.

We’ll be calling an orthopedic specialist on Monday to determine the next steps, but right now we’re still in shock and honestly don’t know what to expect. We don’t know what his treatment plan will look like, how long he’ll be in a cast, or what his recovery timeline will be.

If there’s one thing we do know, it’s that this little guy is incredibly tough.

As heartbreaking as this is, we’re choosing to believe there’s a purpose in it. Maybe this is God’s way of reminding our family to slow down, and do other fun summer things. The bikes will always be there. Right now, our focus is on helping Max heal, making memories together, and supporting him every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, checked in, and kept Max in your thoughts. It means more than you’ll ever know. ❤️

I wish I could put into words the defeat we’re feeling right now, but my heart hurts even more for Max.

We struggled in Moto 2, just like we did at Baja. At Birch Creek, Max went 1-23-2 for a 9th overall. It wasn’t enough to punch his ticket, and the disappointment is hard to describe.

The toughest part was watching our boy carry that weight and feel like he let us down when the truth is, he gave everything he had. We just can’t seem to put three strong motos together when it matters most.

In Moto 2, Max grabbed the holeshot, but after an early crash, he just couldn’t mentally recover. He went down four more times and fought through every lap. The bike started malfunctioning and went into turtle mode on the last lap. Walking away without a ticket again is heartbreaking.

The amount of time, energy, sacrifice, and dedication that goes into chasing a dream like this is hard to explain. To come up short after giving it everything you have is incredibly deflating.

But if there’s one thing we know, it’s that Max proved he belongs. He showed it in Moto 1. He showed it in Moto 3. He has the speed, the talent, and the heart. Sometimes racing can be cruel, and the results don’t always reflect the effort.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, prayed for, and believed in Max throughout this journey. Your positivity means more than you know. We’re hurting tonight, but we’ll regroup, learn from it, and keep moving forward.

We struggled that first moto in 50SR. I won’t lie. I am not impressed with this track and how they tilled it extremely deep and watered like it just poured 2 inches of rain. I understand they have to do this to keep the track watered down, but when kids are falling left and right and getting stuck, I find it extremely unacceptable. Or these little guy should’ve been moved later into the race order.

For practice, all they allowed was a 1 Moto sight lap with wheels on the ground. You can’t jump anything. And you were gonna go into a mudfest to practice to get one site lap, which didn’t make sense for us considering we were race 3.

That is just a Mom rant. Either way we are trying to boost our positivity for Max for this next Moto as that is the one that is the most important for us. Here we go! Let’s hope this track works in. Let’s hope we got all the crashes out of the way.
