Mama’s helping on the preparation of the track today and you all know what that means. Dig those sissy straps out and hook up! Hold on cause usually that means a biting track and even the most seasoned drivers have made use of their head straps. It’s only smart rather taking chances of getting wore out and putting your health and someone else’s in jeopardy. Now, I hope I haven’t jinxed anything. Summertime is summertime. Get loaded and come on out Saturday for the LRPS RACE 4. Let’s have some hot fun!😜THE GATE AND PRACTICE TIME HAS CHANGED AGAIN THIS WEEK. Gates open at 9:00 with Practice beginning at 11:00.

Another blessed weekend at Liberty Raceway Park. Was it hot, you may ask? It was so hot that I’m sure that Cole considered extinguishing his fireball by jumping in Lake Liberty. 😆 It was so hot the devil was sweating! 😆It was so hot ole Babyface was sweating bullets!

Ok, that’s enough! Now, LETS TALK RACING!
First I’d like to thank Donnie and Boomer for coming on board as sponsors this year. There’s no denying that INSANITY SPEED ELIXIR has taken its fair share of the winnings home from Liberty Raceway Park. CHARGER RACING CHASSIS have made their way to Victory Lane by not only Donnie Nall but by many, many other as well. Being a sponsor does not mean you get special privileges. Sponsorship is purely advertising of your product. It’s up to you to prove its worth and let’s face it, Donnie is good at proving Charger’s worth.

Due to having the Unlimited All-Stars this week, the lineup had to be altered with Clone Lite starting off the afternoon’s events. Stephen Adams stood on the pole position over Levi Ballsieper by .080 turning 12:663 to claim that all so desired starting positions but, let me remind you that just because you claim that position does not necessarily mean you end there. Ballsieper finished the first 8 laps of the event leading . Even though Jamie Knopf qualified in 3rd position with a 12.760, he took the control from Ballsieper on lap 9 after switching places with Ballsieper a couple of times but after lap 9, Knopf never looked back again clinching the checkered flag with a last lap of 12.230 but not being the fastest lap even though Knopf owned that privilege too to a 12.168.

Beginner Red Plate is where Beckham Murray earned the pole with his 14.782 timed lap. This class may be small on participation, they are not short on talent. Keep in mind these kids are beginners. I had to leave and get ice for the concession stand so I only saw a couple laps when Blake Hudson took the lead on lap 2 and held onto that number 1 position to the end. These 2 youngsters will be the ones to watch for they are not only so close in competition but, they are also teammates. This will be interesting as time passes.

Clone Super Heavy 425 is our next class with Donnie Nall hankering down the pole position at an impressive 12.893 over Dylan Feltman’s 12.985. At LRP, that equates to 1 mile an hour with Feltman qualifying 2nd to Nall’s Rodney Woods powered Charger racing chassis. Main event was basically the same too with Nall leading from green to checkered and claiming the fastest lap of 12.472 in the 15 lap main event.

Like I mentioned earlier, we had the Unlimited All-Stars Warmup to come visit with us. These guys are loud which is not to my liking. The pole went to Robby Yow with a time of 11.723 over Justin Gilbert’s lap of 12.836. Gilbert snatched the lead at the green glad leading all laps to the checkered flag and our home track driver,Robby Yow ,finished 2nd but Robby had one more chance to get the checkers. Mr Wayne F***h turned to quickest lap of 11.754 which equals to approximately 61.256 mph.

Jr 3 is another smaller class with Mayson-Wesley McNaughton grabbing the pole position over Amelia Bowen by a mere .064 of a second. Mayson-Wesley led flag to flag with a cushion lead of 1.61 seconds with Amelia finishing 2rd.

Here’s a class that is in jeopardy for next year. Austin Cannaday came to race with us his Ducar powered machine this race. Austin use to race at LRP often and for some reason, he has not been with us this year. In Ducar 390 points, Jacob Freeze fought for the pole with a .141 of a second advantage over Cannaday but at the drop of the green flag main event Freeze led about half of the way and the well known Cannaday took over the number 1 spot and continued on to winning the race

Next is the NCDS OPEN SLICK TIRE SR CHAMP Clone 425 main event with Ole Cole Johnson snatching the pole position over Brandon Semones by .175 of a second. Johnson led the entire 15 lap main event with another loyal local track racer Travis Jones falling into 2nd and finishing 2nd with a gap of .970 behind Johnson.

Clone Medium was the next class and without having enough Jr classes, we have to give work time to our sr classes to get ready for their next class. Saturday we had people racing 3, 4 up to 8 classes. You have to allow
time and so far, the racer have not taken advantage of this grace time.

Clone Medium pole was earned by Stephen Adams. It’s not unusual to find Stephen on the pole of any class he enters. Cole Johnson qualified 2nd with only .001 behind Adams which is faster than a blink of an eye. Adams led from lap 1 to lap 15 to clinch the win. Adams is very familiar in finding his way to VICTORY LANE!

We’re back to Unlimited All-Stars where Robby Yow got the pole at his home track with team mate Cole Johnson .242 slower settling for 2nd starting position starting position. Johnson ended up dropping out after 3 laps but Robby rocked on. I thought the 2nd place finisher, Justin Gilbert was going to pull off another win as he closed in on Yow but Yow had other ideas. The finish in this UAS CLASS was Yow and Gilbert.
Hope you guys enjoyed your day at Liberty Raceway.

Next out was Jr Champ Red Plate where Beckham Murray knows all so well how go fast around LRP and claims the pole in this class .133 ahead of Lucas Harmon who was one of our NCDS CHAMPIONS in previous years. Murray, also a previous champion kept the heat on a pulled off the win over Blake Hudson who is his teammate. You’ll see Murray, Hudson, and Harmon, battle for top spots for the rest of the season. I’ll not eliminate ANY of them for the championship. Time will tell!

Pro Clone Super Heavy 425 was another Nall story from wall to wall in this case from flag to flag. Nall earned a gap of .331 over Feltman who finished 2nd again behind Nall. Ok guys, what are you going to do? Do we need to put restraints on Nall?

Jr 3 $$ has again pole an by Mayson-Wesley McNaughton. And again 2nd by Amelia Bowen with finishing the main event in the same order. These guys run approximately 55 mph during the main event.

Now for Clone Heavy. Qualifying is Stephen Adams turning 12.270 with Brayson Riddle qualifying 2nd at 12.388. Adams led from start to end, every lap only to come up a pound or 2 short at the scales. What happened? A piece of led was accidentally left off and Adam had to be dq’ed for being lite at the scales. Expensive mistake. But it happens. This brought Jamie Knopf up to the number 1 position who was only .835 of a second behind Adams. We hate things like this happens but a rule is a rule and you’ll find LRP AND THE NCDS FOLLOWS RULES.

Ducar $$ is close to a repeat from the points class. Jacob Freeze grabs pole ahead from Austin Cannaday by .223 of a second. The finish, however, is different from the points class. Jacob Freeze finished 1st .694 ahead of Chris Duffy, the 2nd place finisher in this class.

Pro Sr Champ Clone 425 proved one thing and that is Cole Johnson likes Champ Buggies. Again Johnson qualified on pole with this time the 2nd place qualifier was Travis Jones. It was Johnson 1st and Jones 2nd all the way. Travis making the fastest lap of the race at 12.929 on lap 8.

Clone 450 was a Dustin Durham show. Durham captured his first pole of the day turning 12.736 over Chad Garner what took 12.952 to complete his qualifying rounds. Durham led every lap and seized the win with Garner finishing 2nd.

Jr Champ Red Plate -2 was a replay of Jr champ 1. Beckham Murray again capturing pole and the win with Blake Hudson finishing 2nd again.

In Pro Clone 390, Stephen Adams is making gaining pole position a ritual with his lap of 12.247. Cole Johnson had to settle for 2nd with his lap of 12.354. This time Adams made sure he had all his weight secured safely so he wouldn’t have any problem after winning yet another Sr Clone class. Another 2nd for Cole Johnson in this class as well. You two dance together pretty well but this time in the flat kart, Adams was the leader.

Over 40 Treaded Clone 400 had Billy Fire to qualify 1st but, it was Johnboy McLaurin to bring home the checkered.

Qualifying 1st in Treaded St Champ was one of the furtherest traveled racers Charlie Vallandingham and Justin Tucker finishes 2nd.

Treaded Clone 400 is our last and final class of the night. It was Johnboy McLaurin to get the prime qualifying position but, it was Brandon Blake to seal the deal.
