Here’s one reason to turn off your auto idle stop system:

Possible Safety Issues

Have you ever been stuck at a stoplight because your auto idle stop didn't restart? It happens and it can be dangerous especially during rush hour!

When needing to make a sudden acceleration you must wait for the engine to restart and it could possibly cause an accident due to the delay in response time.

As the original owner of a 2015 TLX Advanced 3.5L purchased new, my biggest downside of the car was the Auto Idle Stop. I detested my car shutting off and then automatically turning back on. I found this slight delay almost dangerous in many situations, not to mention I believe that turning my...

The auto idle stop system can be hard on your new vehicle. Here are some of the ways it could affect the vehicle:

Increased Engine Wear

The auto idle stop system causes added wear to all parts of your engine's valve train.
The starting of your engine is hard on moving parts that require lubrication due to lack of oil for the valve train and bearings until the oil pump pressurizes.

A normal car without automatic stop-start can be expected to go through up to 50,000 stop-start events during its lifetime
But with automatic stop-start being activated every time the car comes to a standstill, the figure rises dramatically, perhaps to as many as 500,000 stop-start cycles over the engine’s life.

Battery

Starting and stopping so many times will put extensive wear on your vehicle's battery and starting system. AGM batteries are required for the auto idle stop system. AGM batteries are 3x the cost of a regular battery and causing premature wear from many starts can lead to early battery replacement and wasted money.

Tired of pressing the auto idle stop button every time you start your car?
The Idlestopper will automatically turn off your vehicle's auto stop/start "feature" within SECONDS of each start of your vehicle. This effectively defaults the system to off just as it should have been designed for you to do from the factory! You still have full control of the auto stop/start if at any time you would like to tap it back on, but now, no more stressing, no more remembering, just start your car and drive.

The auto stop/start system is an annoyance at the best of times, and can even be dangerous in the worst. Have you ever been caught delayed or even stalled out at a light? Caught in the middle of an intersection or on the highway in stop and go traffic? Ever intended to put the hammer down from a stop sign but had the car shut off instead? These are all common experiences of the auto stop/start feature, and If your like many of us, you know the auto stop/start function of your car just isn't worth using most of the time, if at all. No more buying an expensive battery to get the feature to work reliably, no more getting caught off guard when you just need to get moving, and no more extra wear on your starter, your engine, or your car's electrical system.

STOP thinking about auto stop/start and just get back to enjoying your driving experience!
