A Letter from Our Founder, John Leep

I’ve spent a lot of today thinking about yesterday and the thing that keeps coming back to me isn’t the wiffle ball. It’s the people. Looking out across those fields and seeing this community show up the way it does, year after year, is something I will never take for granted.

To our sponsors, donors, volunteers, teams, vendors, families and everyone who had a hand in making Stevie’s World happen, thank you. So many people give their time, their resources, and their hearts to this event, often without ever asking for recognition. You simply see something worth supporting and you show up. That kind of generosity is what makes this possible.

But at the center of all of it are our Stevie’s World kids. This year, Andrew, Selwin and Isla gave us three more reasons to remember why we do this. And they join a long line of kids and families who have become part of Stevie’s World forever. We can’t change the hard things they’ve been asked to face. But together, we can make sure they know they aren’t facing them alone.

That’s what I saw yesterday. A community rallying around families. People cheering for kids they may have never met before. Friends, neighbors, and strangers standing side by side because they wanted to be part of something bigger than themselves. We may call it a wiffle ball event, but Stevie’s World has always been about so much more.

It is a privilege and an honor to bring it to life every year. And I am deeply grateful for every person who continues to believe in it, support it, and make it what it is.

Stevie’s World may only happen once a year, but the love behind it reaches far beyond one day. Thank you for continuing to make this something these families can carry with them long after the last wiffle ball is thrown.

Yesterday was loud. Wiffle balls were flying. Kids were laughing. Music was playing. Food was everywhere. There were hugs, high fives, ridiculous amounts of hype, and a whole lot of people packed into one little corner of Springfield.

And today? We’re just sitting here thinking about it all. ❤️

Because when the fields are quiet again, you realize what yesterday really was. It was a community showing up. For Andrew. For Selwin. For Isla.

For families who deserve a day where the hard stuff takes a back seat and their kids get to be exactly what they are... kids.

You showed up. You cheered. You prayed and you played. You volunteered. You donated. You bought raffle tickets and wiffle ball shirts and way too much food. You brought your families. You shared our posts. You filled our fields.

And somehow, every single year, you make this little thing our family started feel a whole lot bigger than us.

Yesterday was one for the books. Today, we’re just thankful. Springfield, thank you for showing up for Stevie’s World.

The fields may be quiet today. Our hearts definitely aren’t.

We want to give a big thank you to Stevie's World of Wiffleball. We spent the day at the field and had a GREAT time.

Danni had the pleasure of being a recipient and angel in the outfield. This organization and family has been nothing but short of AMAZING to me, my family and The Danni Rose Foundation. We’re so grateful for their kindness and support.

We hope everyone woke up this morning with nothing worse than sore muscles, questionable knees, and slightly bruised egos.
