Congrats to Christian Arvelo on being named our July 2026 Employee of the Month – and having the distinct honor of being the first EOM with palm trees in the picture!
He is a Valet at the Salato Residence in Boca Raton, part of our partnership with East Coast Valet. He was nominated by Operations Manager Damian Denseha, who writes:
“Christian shows up on time, ready to work with a positive attitude every day. In addition to fulfilling his job duties, he goes above and beyond by proactively helping with additional tasks. Providing valet service at residential condos is much more than parking and retrieving cars - we assist with deliveries to resident units, sweeping/cleaning the front entry way, transporting trash/recycle to the trash room, and handling various service requests to assist the property.
Instead of waiting for the property manager or other staff to request help, Christian proactively offers assistance, engaging with our client consistently to complete these tasks.
We recently received amazing feedback complimenting Christian for his willingness to go above and beyond from Brooke who is the Director of Property Management for the Salato Residences.
‘I wanted to follow up our call to compliment Christian on his positive attitude, and service focused mindset.
Christian was noticeably helpful and actively inquired if he could help us with various tasks. One afternoon he was assisting with breaking down some cardboard boxes, and noticed I was looking at some scuff marks on the luggage carts. He asked me if I would like him to wipe them down to get rid of the marks. This was a pleasant surprise and was very observant. Additionally, he was very extremely helpful with directing deliveries through the service entrance, and closing up the doors that were left propped open in order to maintain proper airflow in the lobby. He completes these tasks with a smile as well.
Christian was going above and beyond to help with anything we needed and volunteering for things to anticipate the needs.’
We are extremely lucky to have Christian on our team and I believe he deserves recognition for his stellar performance.”

National Grid Lot Reopens August 1 for Valet Parking and Bag Check
NANTUCKET, MA - The Town of Nantucket is pleased to announce that the National Grid parking lot at 5 Candle Street will reopen for valet parking and bag check services on Saturday, August 1, 2026, restoring a convenient parking and baggage option for people visiting downtown Nantucket.

Pearl Construction completed renovations to the building at the lot ahead of schedule. The improvements provide separate operating areas for valet parking and bag check services, as well as dedicated space for National Grid. During construction, Valet Park of America worked with Geoff Smith of The Container Guyz to install a storage container for temporary baggage storage. The temporary service allowed travelers to store their bags and shop or dine downtown while awaiting their ferry. The reopening addresses a clear need for downtown parking. The lot’s closure this summer contributed to additional traffic and congestion as drivers circulated in search of available spaces.

Representatives from National Grid, the Town of Nantucket, and Valet Park of America will hold a ribbon-cutting and rededication ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, at the parking lot at 5 Candle Street. The ceremony will recognize a site that has long supported downtown businesses and visitors.

The Town extends special thanks to Bill Ciocca, Scott Navaro, Stephen Holdgate, Joe Tormay, and the entire National Grid team for their continued partnership and for the additional effort required this year. Additional thanks go to the Select Board for their longstanding support of the project. The Town also recognizes the Valet Park of America team, which has supported the downtown community since May 2012, and thanks everyone involved for investing in Nantucket.

“These gentlemen consistently go far beyond parking cars. They care for people.” Congrats to our June Employees of the Month – Stamford Hospital’s Michael Verdon and Noel Ruiz!

The pair was nominated by Nicolas Arana and Allen Klinger based on a heartfelt compliment letter from a patient’s family member.

The letter reads in part: “These gentlemen consistently go far beyond parking cars. They care for people. My husband underwent treatment for a serious illness, and we spent a great deal of time at both facilities. Not once did we feel like strangers. The team learned our faces, learned our story, and even knew our license plate. When they saw me arrive without my husband, they would ask about him. When they saw him, they encouraged him and cheered his progress. When my husband was using a wheelchair, they stepped in without being asked, helping me lift and manage it. That kind of attentiveness meant more than I can put into words. It was one less burden during an already heavy time. When my husband no longer needed the wheelchair, they celebrated him. They shook his hand. They congratulated him. To some that may seem like a small gesture. To us, it was a profound one.”

Nicolas writes: “This compliment perfectly reflects the qualities we strive to provide every day at Stamford Health. It also reinforces the dedication both employees demonstrate on a daily basis.

Noe continues to be one of the hardest-working employees I have had the privilege of managing. His work ethic, willingness to stay late whenever needed, and commitment to supporting the operation have made him an invaluable member of our team.

Likewise, Michael has continued to excel at the Tully Health Center, where he has earned multiple compliments for his compassionate interactions with patients. He consistently goes above and beyond, whether assisting with private events, reporting during severe weather, or making himself available whenever additional coverage is needed.

Together, they exemplify what patient-centered service truly looks like by treating every guest with dignity, compassion, and genuine kindness.”

Well done, and congratulations!

Thank you to our entire Upstate Medical University Transportation Team, but especially Driver Bill Conklin, who had a great compliment come in last week!

The compliment came from a Chaplain Intern at the hospital, and reads in part: “This week I started parking at the Erie Blvd lot. My experience has been so positive. After my shift ended at 10pm last night, the shuttle promptly arrived. The driver asked where I was parked and delivered me right to my vehicle.

After exiting the bus, the driver and the guard at the lot both maintained a watchful eye to make sure I exited safely at that hour. Thank you for the wonderful service.”

Again, thanks to Bill and the team for a job well done, you are making a difference! We love helping our clinical partners!

“When my husband no longer needed the wheelchair, they celebrated him. They shook his hand. They congratulated him.” Cheers to Nicolas Arana and our team at Stamford Hospital for a glowing compliment received this week.

The customer writes: “Thank you to Nic’s team at the main building, Noel and the morning crew, and Mike at the Tully Center. These gentlemen consistently go far beyond parking cars.

They care for people.

My husband underwent treatment for a serious illness.

To us, it was a profound one. Whether at the Tully Center or the main hospital, the standard of service has been the same, warm, consistent, and deeply human.

Nic, Noel, the morning crew, and Mike represent the very best of what patient-centered service looks like. They don’t just take care of our cars. They take care of our spirits. Thank you, gentlemen. You made a difference.”

Thank you to Nicolas and the team for a job well done, and to this customer for perfectly putting our company’s core values into words. This is why we do what we do, to improve the patient experience.
