A through transmission service is recommended every 4 years or 40,000 miles in order to keep your transmission running at peak performance. For most vehile makes this includes removing and cleaning the transmission pan while paying close attention for metal shavings. Replacing the transmission filter and pan gasket and refilling the system with fresh fluid.
