Day 4 CKNA Grands

What a race. What a Weekend.

Will the Thrill did seem to not have as much Thrill this weekend. With starting off picking up our motor at the race and it being broke ( we’re thinking it was dropped during delivery) to being knocked off the track multiple times just sucked the thrill out of him. From the beginning getting P4 to moving down to P23 by the end out of 27 karts.
All in all Will raced his little heart out with what he was given but some how seemed to be in the middle of a couple wrecking balls all weekend. It stinks!
Not the way we wanted the Grands to end.
But gotta take the good out of it and set new goals.

We had fun with good friends big and little! The beautiful weather! And the much more relaxed pace with breaking it up in a am and pm race group.

Day 3 CKNA Grands

What a discouraging day…… long story short between two karts Will was unfortunately knocked out twice by one kart in two races and another kart hit him 4 times in 1 race. No penalties were given.
By the end of last race Will was in 21st place. Down 12 spots. With all the points added up he will Start P18 today.

On a good note we ended the night watching an out of the box race. The boys choose a kart and they won getting their motor on and running. Then he won the race too!!

Day 2 Cup Kart Grand Nationals

Again today we swapped motors trying to figure out which was best. For qualifying we went with what we felt was the best as it’s the last time you can change.
Dave did his best making some adjustments to see if we can find anymore speed.
Discouraging but we’re here and have to make the best out of it. Will drove pretty good and made some good moves. There was a spin out in front of him and all though he had fast reflex and went to the side to save a him a full spin out he did swipe it a bit enough to put him back two spots. Will himself seems to be a little off too. Going to get a good nights sleep and sleep in as he doesn’t go out until after lunch. Tomorrow we know he can make it up!!

We were done early today so was fun using the time to relax and chat and hangout with friends. The kids fished, rode scooters, played soccer and more! Ended the night with icecream and watching the last race under the lights.

Day 1 Cup Karts Grand Nationals

Practice Day

With karting it seems there’s always something that goes wrong. Something out of our hands. Something we couldn’t have prevented.
Today’s discouraging news was we had sent our motor off to be rebuilt so it could be the best it could be for the biggest race of the year. We got it back last night and was leaking oil 😭 We also found a broken clutch.
No bodies fault, nobody knew but was in a scramble. Threw our backup on and fought all day trying to find my speed and a broken clutch. It just wasn’t there.
Over all I didn’t do to shabby without my best motor.
There are 27 kid karts competing from all over! These are the best of the best racers.

On a good note I got 2nd place in CKNA North Division Championship. So close to first so I was a little bummed. But still proud!

Coyote!!

Time to head to Indiana for the biggest race of the year!
