There have already been multiple fatalities on Texas roadways this week. Please be aware when driving. Have a safe holiday weekend by not driving under the influence and Slow Down Move Over for all flashing lights.

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, DPS is stepping up enforcement to help keep Texans safe this Fourth of July. From July 2-5, additional Troopers will be on patrol as part of Operation CARE, watching for impaired driving, speeding, Move Over, Slow Down violations and other dangerous driving behaviors.

Whether you're traveling to see family, attending a fireworks show or celebrating with friends, do your part to make this holiday a safe one:
🚔 Never drink and drive.
🚗 Buckle up every passenger.
📱 Eliminate distractions behind the wheel.
🚨 Move Over or Slow Down for emergency vehicles.
