Due to a cancelation, we have a cabin available for Labor Day Weekend! We also have a couple RV spots left. Our all campground picnic is on Saturday afternoon - come enjoy summer's last hurrah with us!

Our cabins are rustic, comfortable, and have the best views over the lake. In fact, it was staying in this very cabin that convinced us to become the new owners of Anchor Campgrounds several years ago!

Another perfect weekend in the Northwoods, and we would not trade it for anything. 🌲

Close your eyes for a second.

Imagine waking up to the smell of bacon sizzling on the Blackstone, drifting through the trees and pulling everyone out of their campers one by one. Kids are still buzzing from the night before — hide and seek, giggling in the dark, the kind of night games that kids remember for years. Out on the water, fishermen are already out in their boats, soaking in that early morning calm. By midday, the lake is full of life — seasonal campers, cabin guests, overnight RV visitors, and a great group of young folks who made the trip up from the Twin Cities, all cooling off together in one of the cleanest lakes in Washburn County. The ATVers rolled out in the morning and came back with big smiles and good stories. And as the afternoon settled in, so did everyone else — lawn chairs out, drinks in hand, listening to Susan play her ukulele while Olie passed around his smoked Old Fashioneds. New friends and old ones chatted over drinks and a spread of Fiesta snacks that somehow kept appearing. Even the wildlife decided to stop by and see what all the fuss was about.
That is a Saturday at Anchor Campgrounds. That is what we do here.

We are not just a campground. We are a community — one where strangers show up on Friday and leave as friends on Sunday, and where some of those friends like it so much they never really leave. 😄

What sets Anchor Campgrounds apart?

Sure, we have Bass Lake right at our doorstep. We have ATV trails you can ride directly from your site into 20,000 acres of Northwoods forest. We have lake inflatables, a brand new playground, and a Happy Hour bar every Friday and Saturday evening. Those things are pretty great — we won't argue that.

But honestly? None of that is what sets us apart.

What sets us apart is this: we recently had a guest in his 80s come stay with us for what was supposed to be 3 weeks. He ended up staying for 6. When we asked him why, he said he just liked it here too much to leave. He's a veteran, he's got a chocolate lab by his side, and somewhere along the way this campground started to feel like home to him.

He even asked us — only half joking — if we'd take his dog if he passes before the lab does. 🐾

Now, we don't expect to be written into anyone's will. But we were awfully glad to have this kind man and his four-legged companion with us this summer. Stories like his are exactly why we do what we do.

Tonight is a special night at our campground - our longtime seasonal campers are entertaining us! One more piece of evidence that we have the best seasonal campers. We are full of overnight guests here to enjoy the show.

The Red, White and Brew will delay opening till 6 to allow lake time during this heat, and be open till after the show.
