Last but definitely not the least, GT12.

Chris Robertson with the comeback of the season so far sits on top leading Matt Mauro by two points. Chris currently is in full offense mode, leading the points and has the tie breaker over Matt and Daniel Price. That’s flat out dangerous with now a car that looks to be untouchable. As we saw in the foam main last race anything can happen to anyone. Chris’ worst possible score at this point is 701. Which means if Matt wants to win he needs a total of 201 points over the next two race nights, while Chris finishes second or worse in both of those races.

Daniel Price now five points back from Chris and three back from Matt has officially been eliminated from the title chase with an absolute best score of 700pts if he TQ’s and wins out. What he can focus on is snagging that second overall position from Matt. Matt with a worse score possible of 697 means Daniel just needs to score 199pts over the next two weeks while Matt scores no better than third. Tall order when Matt and Chris both have picked up the pace late in the season.

Off the podium is Brandon Gummere leading by three points over Cameron McKenny. Cam missing out on the main last race made the most of his position by winning the B main, while Brandon crashed out early in the main so Cam got lucky and didn’t lose much ground to Brandon. Cam needs to outscore Brandon by at least four points as Cam won’t be able to tie with Brandon holding the tie breaker. Brandon's drops are pretty low scores so this one is going to come down to making the main and then out scoring one another on track as the points looming in the corner are not friendly looking and if I were them I would not want to use them when we all know both of their cars are faster than what those scores show.

Doug Hunt sits in sixth spot looking to capitalize on some missteps from Brandon and Cam but the bigger story is Forrest Baxter closing the gap on Doug. Forrest coming off a huge second place finish last race has closed the gap on Uncle Doug a lot. Now only three points back if he can duplicate the same results this weekend (While causing complete chaos for Matt, Daniel and Chris) it will put him in a tie with Doug going into the final night of racing.

A father son duo hold positions eight and nine. Austin Belarde leads Casey Belarde by a large thirteen point margin. Casey got the upper hand last race with a new chassis for his Roche but it may be too little too late for Casey as a ten point swing is a mountain to climb. There’s a chance though no matter how small.

In tenth is Ezra Palm, only one point back from Casey. Ezra has had an up and down season with finishes as high as 6th in the A main and as low as top of the C main. He will want to tidy that up and find his way back into the main if he wants a chance to get into the ninth overall and track Casey down.

This covers the top ten, but here are some other notables,

Paul Swanson and Justen Dunagan are tied.

Ben Reichow two points back from Jacob Stermer

Jimmy Bell two points back from Ben Reichow

Dave Salee one point back from Sam Fleming

Doc Holiday two points back from Dave Salee

Dave Robinson one points behind Patrick Garrett

Justen Sorensen two points back from Dave Robinson

Xayden Owens and Joe Murphy tied

A class full of battles every single night we race and always full of tight racing to make not only the main
but even fighting to stay in the B and C main is a challenge most nights. With 26 cars still battling it out
with only two more race nights remaining it’s going to be thrilling to see how all these battles pan out.

Now get the honey do’s done, get the cars prepped, get a little sleep and we will see you all tomorrow
for Round 11 of the 2026 Winter Championship Series!

03/13/2026

Here we go a class that hasn’t been locked up yet but it’s gotten closer for Daniel Price. We all thought it
was going to come down to who could win out the season but it has now become who can finish second.
Daniel now has a one point advantage over Brandon Gummere in second. Brandon does still hold the tie
breaker but he now needs to outscore Daniels second place point scores he has banked up. Which is going to be a tall order when Douglas has finally found his pace in his F1 car with back to back TQ and win nights.

Douglas Hobbs has done what he needed to do to secure the third and final podium position. While it’s
not in cement it’s gotten closer. Another TQ and win Saturday night will lock that third and final podium
spot up.

Adam Hunt now ten points back from third has fallen into the jaws of Forrest Baxter. Adam had the advantage early in the season but that momentum has now swung into Forrest’s direction. Adam will look to swing some of that momentum back in his favor this Saturday and try to make sure he holds onto the 4th place in the championship.

Doug Hunt sits in sixth kind of in no man’s land, to far behind Forrest and unless he completely falls apart he should be safe from an attack from Casey Belarde. That being said things happen as they did the last two races Doug has attended have been rough to say the least. So keep an eye if his mechanic can keep his car running for him. (That one is on me 😂 )

Casey Belarde one point up on Gabe Baxter as we head into the race weekend. Gabe was battling with
Cheyenne Goodman but finally Gabe was able to outscore her by more than just a single point and has and advantage of three points currently over Cheyenne. Don’t thinks it’s over for Cheyenne though it is her turn to outscore Gabe. We’ll be sure to watch this one Saturday and going into the final night of racing action.

Justin Dunagan is or final car in the top ten and can’t really go forward or backwards. Seven points behind Cheyenne and eight points up on Katelyn Baxter.

Eleven cars will qualify for points this year which is an improvement from last year as F1 continues to grow for us. Probably the most challenging cars to drive with a tiny setup window it comes down to the driver a lot of the time and who can lay the power down smoothly and efficiently but also don’t build to much grip in or you’re going to be traction rolling out of the track. So if you’re looking for something that will challenge on the bench and on the track next year this would be the spot you want to look at. Don’t let it scare you though the F1 guys are always willing to help you sort your car out!

With only one class to go and one more sleep to race day Friday looks to be a little bit sweeter.

03/12/2026

On deck we have our two classes that truly open the door for so many people to the on road world. A lot
of people don’t know but some of our fastest drivers started out running either a legend or a Euro Truck once upon a time. With extremely spec’d out rules it becomes what little tricks the drivers can learn but mostly it’s all about who can minimize the mistakes and dodge lapped traffic.

Up first Euro Truck. With Gabe Baxter already having it locked up he opted to sit out and let Robert Teal and Justen Sorenson battle it out for spots two and three on the podium. Justen came out swinging snagging the TQ on the night but Robert was able to capitalize and break the night even with each of them scoring 100 points. Justen now with two nights to go really needs to work on finishing at least one spot ahead of Robert if he wants that second place. Justen does hold onto the tie breaker with Robert missing the early part of the season. With Gabe most likely sitting out the next two nights though and those TQ points and wins now ripe for the taking it will be crucial for one of them to pounce on those available points. Simple math though, if Justen beats Robert for the final two nights its drastically increases the chance for a tie which Justen holds.

Moving to the tie in fourth none of us are shocked to see Patrick Garrett and Paul Swanson tied. Patrick
holding onto the tie breaker though by a healthy margin if he can just split the final two nights with Paul he will win the buddy battle. Which is what is most important going into the summer. Paul though has the pace with some thirds early on in the season and the top spot opened up it gives him the chance to pounce and leap in front of Patrick. Pat my best advice, just don’t let him pass. Ever.

Chris Walker has inched his way into striking distance on Kip. Kip though MIA for the last four races leaving the door open for Chris to close in! Chris only one point back going into the final two races will have the tie breaker by a wide margin over Kip if he decides to race the final two races.

Ezra Stermer looks to have the kids battle won in this one, with Weston Walker missing the last five races in the class it’s allowed Ezra to build a comfortable margin over Weston. That’s not to say Weston doesn’t show up to the final two races to score the required points to qualify for the series.

While Euro truck numbers have been kind of been hit and miss this year as people move out of the class it’s
still been great racing with side by side racing that some of the smaller cars couldn’t cleanly do on our track. It’s great to see people improving in the class like Chris Walker and Katelyn Baxter as the venture into other classes as well.

Legends is our third oldest class in the building as I mentioned before we’ve had people that started in the class many years ago and they are now considered to be some of the fastest in the area.

Ben Reichow put an exclamation point on his season last week with yet another TQ and win while Ezra Palm was missing in action. With Ezra missing Paul Swanson moves in within one point now of second place overall. Depending on if Ezra shows up to the final races it does look like he will hold the tie breaker over Paul for the time being but another missed race will allow Paul to possibly snag that tie breaker away from Ezra. Paul slipped a little bit allowing Patrick Garret to outscore him last race. Patrick is a little too far back to reel in Paul but he can definitely hinder Paul’s chances of moving into second. The big issue for Paul is Ezra is sitting on several 99’s for scores so Paul will want to score at least one single win (Tall order when you’re chasing the robot Ben) or even a TQ and win to close that one point gap that Ezra has on him at the moment.

While Patrick Garret is spoiling Paul’s plans, he’s allowed himself to move in front of Nathan Palm by one point. Holding the tie breaker over Nathan healthily it’s all on Nathan to show up and put the runs together to get back by Patrick. Nathan needs to show up and finish at least one spot ahead every night while Patrick doesn’t finish better then fifth. Not totally out of the question but Patrick’s been on a steady roll the last three race nights of not finishing off the podium. Nathan will have to come ready to go this Saturday if he wants a chance.

Five points back sit Wizard and Kip England. Kip in a similar spot where he is MIA in this class as well and
has allowed Wizard to climb back into the battle with him. Wizard holds onto the tie breaker going into the final two nights but the real question will Kip show up and try to beat the Wizard.

Unlike Euro trucks, Weston is very present and ready to show off the work he’s put in. leading Ezra now by five points he’s given himself a nice little cushion going into the final two nights of racing. Five points at this time of the year is tough to overcome but with the class having smaller turn outs the last couple nights it’s left the door open for these two youngsters to battle it out for 8th! Ezra does hold the tie breaker over Weston so he needs to find a way to outscore him by two points one night and three points on the other. Making sure he keeps all the wheels on will be crucial at this stage in the series!

Legends has been a battle of the adults and the kids all season long. The kids have done a great job working on race craft which is no easy task to learn but they have done a tremendous job. With nine racers still battling it out for a summers worth of bragging rights it’ll come down to the final night for a couple of them most likely.

Four classes down and two more to go, which one do you want to see first!

03/10/2026

Ten down and two to go, the end is definitely in sight for all of us as we get closer to the end of out 2026
winter championship series. While some of the top steps have been decided there are still others spots
that need to be discussed.

First up Touring car, while the top two steps have been secured by Jason Hunt and Brandon Gummere
the real battle is for that final step on the podium.

Holding onto the final step is Austin Belarde, utilizing the tie breaker to hold onto it over Douglas Hobbs. Austin and Douglas have been so evenly matched this season and it seems each week one gets a little edge on the other then the other comes back and scoots a little bit ahead. The last two weeks though it has been Douglas sneaking in front on the finishing order. Austin after last week commented that he would need a little more fire off speed out of his car for the main. That for the first minute he struggled to keep pace with the field. Hopefully finding something in the last two weeks he will be able to swing the tables back in his favor and hold onto that final spot on the podium for the season. As mentioned before Austin does hold the tie breaker with more events attended so he has that to work with over Douglas. On the flip side Douglas needs to keep doing what he’s been doing for the last two races and finishing in third and in front of Austin if he wants to overtake him in the season championship standings.

Moving down the order is a battle for seventh between Gabe Baxter and Ezra Palm. Ezra leading Gabe for the time being. Ezra missing the last race has given Gabe the advantage of the tie breaker. As mentioned before Ezra and Gabe are the once that bounce between the A main and the B main as a result one is usually in and one is usually out which gives them both a lot of opportunities to make the main and gain some valuable points by staying away from the chaos that is every B main on the planet.

Moving down Brent Weber is try to track down Justin Dunagan who are both trying to track down Randy Budano. These three drivers are usually comfortably in the B main. This makes for great racing for points purposes. What will throw a wrench in the mix though is a new car with only two races to go like Randy Budano has chosen to do. While it’s shown great promise in testing last weekend could this be the opening both Justin and Brent need to track Randy down and claim that season top ten? Randy currently
holds the tie breaker by two points over Brent and Brent holds the tie breaker over Justin by two points.
Yet another battle that will be decided on track with the tie breakers being so close it will definitely be determined by one good night but more likely a bad night will be the determining factor and minimizing mistakes in the final two nights of racing.

Moving down to the next two would be Dave Robinson and Jereme Spilker. In a dead heat at the moment but Jereme holds onto the lead over Dave. These two have averaged just over 89 points every night they have shown up (10th place points) which is back of the B main or the top of the C main. Biggest factor will be who gets set in the B main vs the C main. This can also be factored in based on field size the larger field yields larger mains but also a tougher field is usually included when the field is larger. Be sure to watch who is in which main for these two as that will likely factor into who leads this
battler going into the final two nights. With ten events in the books touring car still has twenty cars battling it out for a summers worth of bragging rights.

Another one that has been locked up in the top two spots is 12th scale (Dustpans). With Chris Robertson standing on top of the podium and Jason Hunt in second. The third spot on the podium is close to being settled its still has some things to factor in. McCoy Starkey will lead Brandon Gummere and Matt Mauro into the final two nights. McCoy has a four point advantage over both of them but both Matt and Brandon have the tie breaker over him. McCoy has been a model of consistency over the year though. When he shows up you can pretty much mark down he will get 98pts (Third) and at this point the worse he can do is 686pts. Which means either Matt or Brandon need to find a bit of speed to reel in McCoy one of them will need score 100 points per night while making sure McCoy finishes no better than third. Matt and Brandon both missed a huge scoring opportunity with Chris having his first DNF of the season neither one was able to score a 99 which would
of greatly helped their chances on catching McCoy.

Best battle in the class though….Father son battle. Cameron McKinney leads Chad McKinney by one point. While the points show cam in the lead, I think we all saw who gets the final say in this battle as Cam takes his dad out in the opening lap only for Chad to return the favor a few minutes later. Chad being the good sport though let Cam have the spot back and they raced it out to the end where Cam was able to hold off Papa Chad. Both cars are absolute rocket ships and more then capable of A main appearances (Take notice Brandon and Matt) but the field this close small bobbles in qualifying make it very challenging to stay in that elusive five car main event. This one could likely be decided by who makes the A and who is running the B. Especially if you have a rough B main the points swing can be drastic. Oh wait let’s throw a wrench in the mix, enter the chat Austin Belarde. With a massive second place finish last race Austin has inserted himself at the back of this battle. What Austin holds over both Chad and Cam is a tie breaker. Austin now with back to back races in the main event has rocketed himself toward the top on the speed chart. Don’t sleep on Austin to overtake both of them with his recent performance.

Final Battle is between Randy Budano, Brent Weber and Dave Robinson. Separated by three points amongst the three of them. Dave Robinson goes into the final two nights with the advantage of holding the tie breaker over both Randy and Brent. Randy holds the tie breaker over Brent by four points. Back of the B to the top of the C is where we find these guys battling it out. Dave coming off a season best result will have momentum on his side going into the final two race nights. Just finish in front of the others and that’s your recipe to either holding onto your spot or moving up the ladder.

Thirteen drivers are still racing it out for the season points for one of the original RC car classes. The
growth in this class is huge this season and is great to see more people enjoying what is probably one of the hardest classes to not only drive but also setup to go fast. Huge thanks to everyone that’s helped grow this class to what it is today. We really couldn’t have the success if it wasn’t for all the seasoned guys helping the new comers.

Come back tomorrow for two more class points break downs.

02/27/2026

This is the one we have waited to talk about and I won’t lie this was the first one that I wrote up. First and foremost congratulations to each and every one of the 30 drivers that are still eligible for overall season points. Yes you read that right there are still THIRTY drivers that are racing for points. Making GT12 the unanimous largest class each and every night. With over 40 drivers giving it a try throughout the season is absolutely astonishing. Give yourselves a pat on the back real quick. Another fun fact we average more entries in GT12 then the Snowbird Nationals had in attendance this year. 😎

Now let’s talk points, unfortunately the majority of the talk will be inside the top ten but please understand there are as I am writing this there are a TON of great points battles outside the top ten. Five of which are tied up going into the final three races. Paul Swanson vs Casey Belarde, Jimmy Bell vs Patrick Bozarth, Sam Flemming vs Mike Kennedy, Dave Salee vs Josh Stephenson, Patrick Garret vs Doc Holiday are all tied with one another and there are even more single point battles that are every bit as exciting as the guys battling it out in the top three.

At the top of the board sit Chris Robertson getting the tie breaker over Matt Mauro. Now unlike foam this has been anything but Chris’s year in GT12. In fact on the vast majority of the race nights Chris has had the third best car, until two races ago when he unloaded a new hotrod which has completely turned this point’s battle on its head. Chris in two race nights went from can he even compete? To can anyone touch him in the final three race nights. Matt Mauro though has been the kryptonite though to Chris all season. Matt over the last four races he has been at has finished no worse than second with two TQ’s and two wins in that stretch. Matt obviously has the raw speed in the car and finally has a body that doesn’t tuck when you look at it (If Matt doesn’t win I’m going to blame the super rad body for it) and now will just have to focus on navigating traffic smoothly and can apply pressure to the rocket ship Chris has brought he’s got a really good chance to take this down to the final night. Then we throw Daniel (Chris’s best friend on track) in the mix and we mathematically still have three drivers in the mix. The eye test tells a different story though. Daniel came out extremely strong at the beginning of the season with a couple hundred point nights but the raw speed since the layout change has disappeared a little bit from Daniels car here in the second half of the season. At this point you are wondering what each one has to do to come out on top. That’s a great question and my calculator app says it’s way too early to even try to count anyone out of this. What I can say is one bad night at this point…it’s going to hurt your chances cause if you have a bad night I can almost guarantee that the other two didn’t have a bad night. So the name of the game for these three is don’t miss in qualifying and then in the main event don’t make an error in traffic. Be sure to watch this main event over the next three weeks. It’s going to be close between all three of these racers.

Oh but wait there is more! Brandon ‘Track Time King’ Gummere has been chipping away on his prodigy getting closer and closer, and by closer I mean a second place finish last race. Now while second helped
his season very much it adds another layer to the battle above. If we add a fourth car to the mix of where people are finishing in that top three group it’s going to change that top three battle really rapidly. He can’t focus just forward as Cameron McKinney is chomping on his heels.

Cameron currently only two points back from Brandon. Cam has had moments of awesome speed and then moments of lots of speed but lots of mistakes. With only one B main appearance so far this season he will want to keep that trend alive if he wants to try and get by Brandon especially with the speed he has found in the last couple weeks. Doug Hunt is on a little bit of an island, four points back from Cameron and four points up on Austin Belarde. He will need to pick up the pace some as Austin has shown up with some speed at the last race.

Forrest Baxter is only two points back from Austin though. So Austin won’t be able to just focus climbing
the ladder forward he also has to make sure he doesn’t slide backwards. Forrest has been a solid top five car most nights after switching cars earlier in the season.

A little further back are Ezra Palm and Justin Dunagan separated by only two points going into the final three races of the season. These two battle it out at either the back of the A or the top of the B main. They are very up and down in their performance while most of their results are in the B main the b main is tough which leads to up and down results when you’re in that main. That being said when you make A main it makes a huge swing in your points as they both did last race. This will be a battle of who can run the B main the cleanest and make sure they finish as high as they can to keep themselves into the top ten in points.

As mentioned above I could write all day about the battles through the field but with this many people still in the hunt no one is really safe at this point and big jumps can happen as more drops come into play it will become even more scrambled. It’s going to be a wild three races to wrap up out 2026 season and I am so ready to sit back and watch it all unfold in GT12!

Little coffee and some points talk to start your Friday morning off on the right foot.

Fromula 1 this season has been dominated by two drivers for the majority of the season up until the end of January and now we have had a new driver come in and very much be a factor. For now though the battle at the top is between Brandon Gummere and Daniel Price. Both drivers with a score of 403 and Brandon holding the tie breaker after Daniel missed last race. As it sits right now if were were to finish the season Daniel would actually come out on top with a total of 701 Brandon would fall short with a score of 700. That being said all it takes is one weekend of outscoring Daniel and that tide turns toward Brandon as he has the tie breaker.

One person that has really caught fire over the last two weekends is Douglas Hobbs, logging not only wins but also a TQ as we head into the final three races of the season. Similar in his touring car performance Dougie has gelled much better with this layout and is stringing together some really strong results climbing the leader board in both classes. What Dougie needs to do to win the overall though. Sadly nothing, the best Dougie can do at this point is TQ and win all three of the final races and the best he can do is TIE Brandon with 700 points which Brandon holds the tie breaker. What Dougie can do though is throw a huge wrinkle in the battle for the top spot. Could we now see where the battle for the overall championship is decided by who has more second place finishes?

Adam Hunt slides into the four spot dead smack in the middle of Dougie and Forrest Baxter. Adam and this layout have gelled quite as well as he did on the previous layout and has had some unfortunate luck
come his way over the last hand full of races, battling for a podium spot and small little gremlins keep catching him off guard. He’ll look to the racing gods for a little help at the final three races and see if he can snag some of those points back from Dougie and stay in front of Forrest.

The next group is for the final spot in the top 5 of the series for the season. Forrest Baxter leads the way for this group with Casey Belarde one point back and Doug Hunt one point back from Casey. This group is TIGHT they all bounce between the top of the B but also have runs as high as third in the main event. Doug Hunt holds the tie breaker over them, Forrest holds the tie breaker over Casey. This one will come down to who is in the main and who is marshalling the main. Then whoever is in the main how far up will they finish. A third place finish out of these drivers is huge and will most likely catapult themselves in front of the other two.

Gabe Baxter leads Cheyenne Goodman going into the final three races. These two mirroring their results with one another. If one finishes one spot ahead one week it seems the other one swings back and finishes one spot ahead the next race. For the most part the majority of their season has been raced out through the B and will likely be where it’s decided between the two of them. Which is awesome when you can race it out on track the whole night from the first round of Qualifying to the Final main event. It will be fun to watch Cheyenne put Gabe under pressure as she tries to swing the points back in her favor this weekend.

9 races in and we still have 11 drivers racing it out for points in what is easily the hardest cars to drive in the building is awesome to see. I never would have guessed that F1 would be as strong as it is for us! The racing is awesome to watch and the sportsmanship shown with these open wheeled rockets is a blast to watch! If you are looking for something to challenge yourself all winter with by all means grab an F1 kit build it and enjoy a winters worth of tuning to try and track down the top three!
