EMS Buffs

EMS Buffs "Doc" Alex is a nine year old autistic child who is obsessed with all things EMS, Fire and Police. message us for his address Alex was terrified to walk past it.

It all started in August of 2014 when Alex saw an ambulance parked on the side with the engine idling. Alex had an ABA worker with him who suggested that Alex visit a firestation to see an ambulance on friendly terms, because If he should ever need one we would be in big trouble. Alex wanted to know everything about the Ambulance and what it was called. Alex was scared of the sound of oxygen comin

g out of the flowmeter and he refused to lay down on the stretcher. It was suggested we try going again to slowly get him used to it. By the second visit he was hooked and started requesting to visit an ambulance. He chose to visit an ambulance over any other activity. Alex soon was a common sight at local ambulances and we started traveling to other cities and states to visit different types. He watches old "Emergency!" reruns and "Nightwatch" and 'Boston EMS". Alex is six, yet he knows all the bones in the body, different systems, positions, procedures and medical equipment. Alex met the crew of "Nightwatch" and he was delighted. Alex also collects EMS related autographs, as well as challenge coins, pins and his favorite is patches. He is a fan of police cars and fire trucks, but his favorite is usually the ambulance. If you wish to send Alex a patch or a note, his address is:
