I modified one of my lifts to use as a mockup fixture. I ran pieces of 3/4 allthread thru my table so I can clamp the frame down and using levels I level everything. After tack welding the lower frame rails, little blurry, I then set the frame on top of the adjustable hold down fixture and set the frame height and level it. Now to run tube to the axle plates.

Hardtailing this '79 Sportster I had to cut this casting off to access the lower frame rail. I then cut 2 pieces of 3/4 rod 4 inches long and inserted them into the frame rails and plug welded them. Then I slide on pieces of 1"" about 6 inches long for this build. This length depends on how long you want to go. This is a good place for the battery tray.

I rolled my lift outside to enjoy the cool weather. I have the hardball section where I want it. Once I get my fender I can get it mounted then make the seat mounts. Although I am not using these wheels and tires, they are the correct size for this build. The frame is parallel with 4 1/2" ground clearance. I installed a mock up engine to check clearances. You can start to get a feel for how it will look. I am not using that tank either.
