Hi everyone,
I wanted to make this post to make it as clear as I can what happened last weekend and the progress made throughout the week, up to today.
The ice that accumulated on the roof last weekend was due to a pump, that is designed for this type of weather, freezing unexpectedly. We had someone on site every day throughout the storm and this happened over one night. When it was discovered the next day, all necessary actions were taken to remove the ice. This is not an easy, one man job that can be resolved within a few hours. We spent every single day this week working on the ice, calling in extra hands, and being strategic to ensure we did not drop ice on boats, did not cause damage to the piles, roofing, or dock as a whole. The walkways are not yet cleared as that is/was the lowest priority, but we will continue to go out and get these cleared. Yes, there are boats with ice on them. No, these boats have not been damaged. No, we will not be clearing the ice off of these boats as that can cause damage, but letting it melt off naturally will ensure they remain in the condition they were in before this happened. Yes, there are still small sections of ice, but this is not negligence, this is planning for boat moves to ensure the ice is removed safely. No, the small sections still there will not cause any damage to vessels, the roof, or the dock. Our number one priority is to keep the marina and the vessels in it safe, we will continue to do this. Attached are photos taken today, and the current progress. We did not try to “hide” this by not contacting every person individually, we will contact you individually when there is an issue we need to speak one on one about. Otherwise, we will post general updates and information to the group of slip holders, campers, and floating cabin owners. Unfortunately, with the Blue Springs Boat Dock Good Times group, I am having a hard time getting my posts approved in a timely manner or at all. Because of this, we have started a private group for those who are a part of Blue Springs Boat Dock only. If you do not have a camper, slip, or floating cabin, you will not be accepted into this group. If you are a camper, slip holder, or floating cabin owner, please join our new, private, group here: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1C2ZGTYZEg/
I will be turning comments off as nothing good has been coming from them. If you have concerns, please reach out to us directly, posting on Facebook can not solve your issues or help you, we can and we will. Thank you!
