This one turned into more than just a back glass replacement.

Once the glass was out, the real problem was obvious — rust all around the pinch weld.

So before the new glass went in, we wire wheeled the area down, removed the loose corrosion, treated it with the proper primer, and gave the adhesive a clean surface to bond to.

A lot of the work in auto glass is the stuff you never see once the job is finished.

The worst paint failure! 😵 This back glass was barely hanging onto solid metal.

Once the glass was out, we found heavy rust hiding underneath and a bonding surface that was already failing.

This is exactly why proper glass removal and surface inspection matter. If the surface underneath isn’t solid, the new glass can’t be installed correctly.

Sometimes the real problem is what you can’t see until the glass comes out.

This one was worse than it looked. 😵‍💫

The rust had gotten so bad around the glass opening that the tempered glass practically came right off. Once corrosion gets underneath the bonding area, the adhesive can no longer hold the way it was designed to.

This is why what’s underneath the glass matters just as much as the glass itself. A clean, solid bonding surface is a huge part of a proper installation.

Definitely one of those removals where the car tells you the story as soon as the glass comes out.

A rock chip may look small, but once it starts spreading, the only option may be a full windshield replacement.

On an RV, that can get expensive very quickly because the windshield is much larger and often more costly to replace than a standard vehicle windshield.

A rock chip repair works by injecting resin into the damaged area to stabilize the glass and help prevent the break from spreading. The sooner it’s repaired, the better the chances of saving the windshield.

A few things that can cause a chip to spread:

Temperature changes

Road vibration

Hitting bumps or potholes

Pressure on the glass

Waiting too long to repair it

Rock chip repair won’t make every chip completely disappear, but the main goal is to restore strength to the damaged area and stop it from becoming a long crack.

Small repair now = potentially avoiding a much bigger repair later.

Tell me you got money without telling me you got money…” 💸

This V12 Biturbo G-Wagon came in with one of the smallest windshield pits you’ll ever see — barely noticeable, but it was sitting right in the driver’s line of sight.

Instead of living with it, the owner said replace the whole windshield. 😮‍💨

This DIY back glass replacement went about as bad as it could. 😬

This Jeep Gladiator came in leaking all the way around the back glass. Once we removed it, we found messy urethane, scratches on the body, and the rear defroster wasn’t even connected.

Replacing auto glass is more than just gluing a piece of glass into place. Proper preparation, a clean urethane bead, and protecting the vehicle are what keep it sealed and safe.

They called us crazy last time for replacing an entire windshield over one rock chip…

So this time, we found an even smaller chip on an even bigger windshield. 😅

This customer didn't want anything to do with rock chips so we got them taken care of.

Tiny chip. Massive windshield. Full replacement.
