This customer came in with a lack of power on their Ford 6.7L diesel. We found that the factory charge air cooler pipe had failed causing a boost leak. We got him fitted with some new hd pipes to ensure no future issues.

"Why are my brakes squeaking?"
Sometimes it is not just worn brake pads.

This 2016 Ram 2500 came in with a squeaking issue, and we found the rear brake pads had worn down on one side because of a stuck caliper slide. That uneven wear can lead to noise, reduced brake performance, and more problems if it is left alone.

In this reel, Noah explains part of what goes into a proper brake job and why we clean and service brake slides and hardware along the way. It is not just about replacing parts. It is about making sure everything moves the way it should so your truck can stop safely and smoothly.

That extra attention can make a big difference in how your brakes perform and how long your parts last.

Where would you go if you could take a trip anywhere right now and why?

Between repairs and diagnostics, we took a quick shop break and asked the McDiesel team a fun question. Where would you go if you could travel anywhere and why

The answers were genuine, funny, and honestly said a lot about this crew. It is a solid reminder that behind the tools and the trucks, it is real people keeping this place running.

Drop your answer in the comments. We want to hear it.

"Why do you clean the wheel hub before putting my wheels back on?"

A customer came in after getting tires and work done elsewhere and said their truck had a new vibration that did not make sense. We got it in, checked things over, and found the wheel mounting surfaces had rust and buildup that kept the wheel from seating perfectly flat.

Evyn cleaned the hub and the inside wheel mounting surface, then we torqued everything back to spec the right way. The vibration was gone and the customer left with a truck that felt smooth again and the confidence that it was buttoned up properly.

At McDiesel, we focus on the small details that keep your truck safe and solid.

"Why would I upgrade my engine oil pan on my Duramax?"

A customer came in looking to make their Duramax a little more durable for everyday use and long term reliability. They had heard about upgraded oil pans but were not sure if it was worth it.

We walked them through the benefits and installed a larger, thicker Banks engine oil pan. The added capacity helps with thermal control and the stronger design adds protection underneath the engine where it can take a hit.

They left knowing their truck had a little extra protection and a setup that is better prepared for the miles ahead.

"Why is my check engine light on and should I worry about a glow plug?"

A customer brought in their 2019 L5P Duramax because the check engine light popped on and they wanted to handle it before it turned into a no start morning. After testing, we found the number 5 glow plug was bad.

We started the removal and the lower half of the glow plug snapped off and stayed stuck in the cylinder head. This is the part where most people start thinking the worst. Big teardown, lots of labor, lots of downtime.

Shop Lead Evyn stepped in, explained the situation, and used the right extraction process to remove the broken section without pulling the cylinder head. The customer avoided a much bigger repair, got clear answers, and had their truck back without the extra downtime.

If you have a light on, bring it to McDiesel in Sparks, NV and we will diagnose it properly and walk you through the best fix.

"Why do my transmission temps get so high when I am towing?"

Heat builds fast when you are pulling weight, especially on hills and longer drives. One simple way to help your 2021 Ford F350 with the 10R140 handle that heat better is adding more fluid capacity and improving heat dissipation.

That is why we installed a PPE upgraded transmission pan. It increases fluid capacity by 8 quarts for higher thermal capacity, has tall external fins to help shed heat and lower transmission fluid temperature, and adds impact resistance for real world truck use. It can also use the stock gasket to seal it, which makes for a clean install.

If you tow or haul often and want more peace of mind, upgrades like this can make a big difference.
