I found a couple more photos of my '67 and have a question. How many built their first car with it being a 1st Gen Camaro? Back in 81-82 I built this car from scratch. Purchased for $200, no engine, trans or wheels. Was blue on blue, painted with a paint brush (literally), wall paper on the dash pad, a monopoly game board stuffed behind the right wheel for backing to slap on the body filler and the list goes on. Turned it into a show winner. 7,400 rpm small block, Doug Nash 5-speed, 4.56 gear, real Center Lines (was the only local guy with real ones ($378.00 each for the 8.5" rears was big money then) and a perfectly straight body with mile deep 1982 Z28 Dark Claret Poly color topped with clear coat and then sanded and buffed like there was no tomorrow. My dad made me put shades on the garage windows so the neighbor couldn't see what a pos I bought but then he sat with the car at every show I took it to. 😊😉

For me, 1967 Camaro.
Summer of 1983- Spring of1984.
No.
Yes. I'd take it back and Resto-Mod it.

Let see how creative the answers are. You are able to travel back in time for a period of 3 years. It doesn't have to be a January to December period. It could be a June to June but it has to be 3 consecutive years. You have the money you have now, the knowledge you have now and you're in your 21 year old body by all respects. What time frame would you go to and what would you do? You can time travel back to present time and bring objects back with you, but not people.

An observation about some car shows on television. A couple of days ago, the infamous first two Pontiac Firebirds sold at the Mecum Kissimmee auction. The convertible hammered at $150k and the Coupe at $92,500. Go back and watch the original show that brought these cars into the public eye. Per the show, they were bought as a pair for $70k from a known collector (well, I am aware of him as a collector). Immediately upon arrival in Texas, they are thought to be worth $500k as they sit (amazing how that works) and then a deal is struck to sell the cars, fully restored to day one appearance for $650k. The topper, both restorations had to be completed within 60 days. Let that bs sink in for a bit. The cars are completed, the deal is made, supposedly the restoration guy got paid. The cars bounce around but never with big money and they show up in Kissimmee with the restoration guy as the claimed owner. The bottom line of this story is that television shows do not determine a true market value. Mecum did a fantastic job advertising these cars. It was made known through many media outlets. In the end, the truth was known. The hammer was dropped and reality has set in.
