Terra Cabin

Terra Cabin I am here to showcase my custom camper shell concept which has many possibilities for use including offroad camping or hauling securely.

I built this camper shell to achieve some goals. I needed a shell that I could (almost) stand in when loading and unloading. I wanted to be able to use it for shelter and extend my camping season to unlimited. I didn't want to have to remove it between camping or hauling trips. I definitely didn't want to pay for storing it at a yard. It is light enough to leave on the truck full-time and can be driven into the back-country without a problem. So far I believe I have achieved these goals.

Sometimes even a small project completion is motivating. Reversed the rear mounted cup holder to the front. The original dash mounted cup holder bounces going down the road and definitely while offroad. Plans are to remove the dash holder and create a custom dash insert for my 2 meter radio and switches.

Recently cut down the cabinet depth and made a thicker countertop with recessed LED down lights. I think it needs cabinet doors.

Haven't posted in a while...I will get pics of my updated cabinet build later when the sun sets. I added lighting under the counter edge. But for now, here's a pic or two from New Years quick run to Sandstone Canyon.

All the rain we've been having...discovered a leak in the roof! Must have been damaged on the trail. Ruined the ceiling inside. Roof is repaired and mopped on some new waterproofing material. New ceiling purchased and just waiting for clear weather to install it.
While I'm at it...getting the air tank moved under the truck where the spare tire used to be. The compressor is staying inside. It may be weather rated, but after the Mojave trip water crossing, not sure its submersible.
Looking forward to upcoming events in San Juan Capistrano and Flagstaff!
