Ever wonder what this odd-looking stand is doing in our shop? 🤔 This is an ADAS calibration target — and it plays a big role in keeping your safety systems working the way they're supposed to.
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — things like lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. These systems rely on cameras and sensors that are calibrated to see the road in a very specific way. Anytime your windshield is replaced, your alignment is adjusted, or certain suspension or body work is done, those cameras can get knocked out of spec — even if nothing looks different from the driver's seat.
That's where targets like this come in. We use precise measurements and dealer-level equipment to recalibrate the cameras and sensors so they're reading the road accurately again. Skipping this step can mean your safety systems are working off bad data, which defeats the purpose of having them in the first place.
It's one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that doesn't get talked about much, but it matters a lot for drivers here in South Windsor and the surrounding towns. Questions about ADAS calibration on your vehicle? Just ask!
