Big Blue gets choppy this afternoon. NWS Reno has south wind at 9 to 13 kt with gusts to 26 kt, and waves building from under a foot to 1 to 3 feet. The mid-lake buoys read 58.7° this morning. Tuesday goes light, waves back under a foot. We're watching Wednesday, when NWS has South Lake at 90% for showers and thunderstorms.

Big Blue stays calm this weekend, with waves under a foot and the mid-lake buoys at 59.1°. Monday a deepening Pacific trough brings gusty south to southwest wind, and NWS gives moderate to high odds of afternoon gusts past 26 knots. Lake Wind Advisory on Big Blue from 1900 tonight to 0200 Friday. NWS Reno calls for east wind 15 to 25 mph, gusts to 35, and waves 2 to 3 feet, with the chop stacking on the west shore. Today stays calmer, east around 10 mph with waves under a foot. Friday morning eases back to light wind. Water reads 59.4° at the mid-lake buoys, and the lake sits at 6,228.29 feet at Tahoe City.

Wednesday at Camp Rich. Sunny, 64° in South Lake, and a light southeast breeze that keeps Big Blue quiet most of the day.

The east wind turns on tonight and runs into Thursday, with gusts to 40 mph Thursday night per NWS. We'll see you on the water while it's calm.

Wednesday at Camp Rich. NWS calls for sunny skies and a high near 64° in South Lake Tahoe. Wind is light, southeast 0 to 5 mph. That keeps Big Blue quiet for most of the day. Tonight drops to about 37°. No NWS alerts for the South Shore. The wind turns east Thursday, with gusts to 25 mph by day and up to 40 mph Thursday night, per NWS.

Good morning from Camp Rich. Tuesday, 13 Oct.

NWS has the South Shore near 24° before sunrise. Sunrise is 0708 (7:08 a.m.). Today is forecast sunny with a high near 51°. Wind on Big Blue stays light, NE 0 to 5 mph with gusts to 20.

Tonight drops to 31°. We warm to 63° Wednesday and 68° Friday. No NWS alerts for the lake.
