Bee Balm - also goes by bergamot, horsemint, oswego tea. This little beauty is a favorite for honey bees, mason bees (navtive non stining bee) and bummble bees. They are also quently visited by other pollinators. Their leaves have a minty smell and are easy to care for as they are drought tolerant - once established. Monarda is a genus of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. The genus is endemic to North America. Common names include bergamot, bee balm, horsemint, and oswego tea, the first being inspired by the fragrance of the leaves, which is reminiscent of bergamot orange (Citrus bergamia).
