Protect the underside of your vehicle before winter road salt returns. 🍂

FLUID FILM BLACK undercoating is $250 at Priority Auto, with service on Saturdays. Its soft, non-drying coating helps protect metal from moisture, salt, and brine while leaving a clean black appearance.

Our weekend process is simple:
• Drop off Friday night or Saturday morning before we open
• We apply FLUID FILM BLACK on Saturday
• Your invoice is sent by text
• After payment, we leave your key in a secure location you choose
• Pick up at your convenience during the rest of the weekend

Undercoating helps control corrosion; it does not repair metal already damaged by rust.

Winter tire season starts with a plan. ❄️

October is a good time to look over the set you stored in spring and decide what your vehicle needs before snow and ice arrive.

• Check the tread and sidewalls for uneven wear, cracks, bulges, or damage
• Confirm the correct tire size and fitment for your vehicle
• Plan on a matching set of four winter tires for balanced grip
• Think about your daily route, driving conditions, and budget when choosing a set

Considering Nokian winter tires, or wondering whether your current set is ready for another Vermont winter? Call Priority Auto at 802-862-1168 to discuss your options and seasonal changeover scheduling.

Cooler mornings? Give your tire pressure a quick check. 🍂

As temperatures fall, tire pressure can drop. Check it with a gauge rather than waiting for the dashboard warning light.

• Check when tires are cold, after the vehicle has been parked for at least three hours
• Use the recommended PSI on the driver's door label or in your owner's manual. The number on the tire sidewall is the maximum pressure
• Check all four tires and the spare, if equipped
• If a tire keeps losing pressure or the warning stays on, have it checked

A few minutes now can help you head into fall with properly inflated tires.

Questions about your tires? Message Priority Auto.

Why is the A/C light on when I’m trying to warm up the car? 🍂

On cool Vermont mornings, air conditioning can help remove moisture from cabin air, making it easier to clear fog from the inside of the windshield. Warm air and A/C can work together.

For foggy glass:
• Select the windshield defrost/defog setting
• Use warm air and increase the fan speed
• Follow your owner’s manual for outside-air and recirculation settings—many vehicles automatically select outside air when defrosting

Let the windows clear before driving. If the defroster isn’t keeping up, have the heating and ventilation system checked.

A/C isn’t only a summer feature—it can help keep your view clear in fall, too.

This week in automotive history 🚗

On October 1, 1908, Ford introduced the Model T. It helped put car ownership within reach of far more people. By 1927, the 15 millionth Model T had rolled off the assembly line.

A detail for anyone who likes turning wrenches: its removable cylinder head made valve work easier. That feature is common today, but was unusual in 1908.

If you could take any classic car for a Sunday drive, what would you choose?

Don’t wait for the first snowy forecast to think about the underside of your vehicle.

Vermont roads may be treated with salt and brine before winter feels fully underway. FLUID FILM BLACK creates a wet, non-drying barrier that creeps into seams and other difficult-to-reach areas, helping protect metal from moisture and seasonal road treatments. It also leaves the chassis with a clean black appearance.

Undercoating helps control corrosion; it does not rebuild metal already damaged by rust.

Saturday FLUID FILM BLACK appointments are underway for $250.

Our weekend process is designed to be convenient:

• Drop off Friday night or Saturday morning before we open
• We complete the application Saturday
• Your invoice is sent by text
• After payment, we leave the key in a secure location you choose
• Pick up your vehicle at your convenience during the rest of the weekend

Call or message Priority Auto to reserve a Saturday appointment before winter weather arrives.

A fault code is a clue—not a parts shopping list.

When a scanner reads a code from your vehicle, it tells us what the computer detected. It doesn’t always tell us which part needs replacing.

A sensor-related code, for example, may point to the sensor itself, its wiring or connection, or a problem in the system it monitors.

That’s why diagnosis goes beyond plugging in a scanner. Checking live data and testing the affected system helps narrow down the cause before recommending a repair.

You can help, too: tell us when the problem happens. Only on a cold start? After rain? During acceleration? Those details can be useful when a problem comes and goes.

Have a warning light or an intermittent issue? Give Priority Auto a call to arrange a diagnosis.

❄️ Winter-tire season starts before the snow does.

Waiting until the first Vermont snowstorm usually means joining everyone else who waited. Now is the time to inspect last year’s tires, decide whether they have another safe season left, and schedule installation.

This season, Priority Auto will be focusing on Nokian and Cooper winter tires.

Nokian’s Hakkapeliitta lineup is engineered specifically for northern winter conditions, with studded and non-studded choices available. Cooper also offers dedicated winter options for drivers looking for dependable snow-and-ice performance.

The best choice depends on your vehicle, tire size, daily driving, and budget. Dedicated winter tires are more effective than all-season tires in deep snow—but they still need adequate tread and proper inflation.

Call or message us with your vehicle information or tire size, and we’ll help you compare the right Nokian and Cooper options before the winter rush begins.

Already have some surface rust? That doesn’t automatically mean you missed your chance to undercoat.

FLUID FILM BLACK is designed to pe*****te and coat metal, including areas with existing surface rust. Its wet, non-drying barrier creeps into seams and other hard-to-reach areas to help control further corrosion caused by moisture, road salt, and brine.

One important distinction: undercoating does not rebuild weakened metal or repair damage that corrosion has already caused. It is protection—not structural repair.

Saturday appointments are now available. Price: $250.

Our weekend process is simple:

• Drop off Friday night or Saturday morning before we open
• We apply FLUID FILM BLACK on Saturday
• Your invoice is sent by text
• After payment, your key is left in a secure location you select
• Pick up your vehicle at your convenience during the rest of the weekend

Cooler Vermont nights can bring unwanted guests under the hood. 🐭

An engine compartment can provide mice and other rodents with a sheltered place to build a nest—especially when a vehicle isn’t driven regularly.

A quick fall inspection may reveal:

• Leaves or shredded nesting material
• Droppings or unusual odors
• Damaged hood insulation
• Tooth marks on wiring or hoses
• New warning lights or unexplained electrical problems

You can reduce the risk by keeping food, birdseed, and nesting materials away from the parking area, sealing openings around the garage, and checking vehicles that sit for extended periods.

If you find chewed wiring or signs of a nest, have the vehicle inspected before the damage develops into a larger electrical problem.
