It has been a very difficult decision to come to and I am finding it even harder as I put this down in words but after 36 years in the auto body repair business with 34 years as an owner, tonight I have turned the key and locked the front door as the owner of Mike G. Perfection Auto Body, for the last time.
I want to thank everyone for their loyalty and patronage and especially to the surrounding communities that I have been so grateful to conduct my business in.
Somehow we survived the uncertainty that happens in life and that which comes with business such as the Dot Com crash in 2000, the life changing events that unfolded on 9/11, 2007-2008 housing/stock market crash and recently the global pandemic. Unfortunately the one thing that I cannot fight is time and my health which both seem to have crept up on me. My name and reputation mean everything to me. It is something that money cannot buy and must be earned and knowing that, I would rather step away at what I feel is the high point in my career then end up like an unwanted guest who has worn out his welcome and stayed too long.
Over the years I had been asked if I would sell with my answer always being a resounding "NO"! Recently I have been approached by two young and enthusiastic men who have spent their lives in the autobody business that wanted their own opportunity to have their own business. With all this being said, I would like to welcome Chris and Victor as the new owners of Mike G. Perfection Auto Body. As I have mentioned, they are not new to the business having worked in both of their families collison shops and now wanting a place they can call their own. I am confident that they will carry on with the same honesty, integrity and work ethic that you have all come to depend on. I am also grateful that they would like me to stay on but with a lighter schedule.
With that all being said, THANK YOU, its been a wonderful ride. Mike G.
