Last week, Tim Erickson testified in the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Federal Land in support of 's bill that would reinstate grazing and multiple use management, restore public access, and reduce checkerboarded land ownership to a key area in California.

In Congress, we talk about this bill being bipartisan, supported by multiple administrations and both agencies. In the West, we just call it common sense.

H.R.8454 would swap two parcels of equal size between the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service to rectify a simple boundary issue and ensure the needs of the land included in the parcel matched the mission of the agency.

🇺🇸 **Happy Independence Day from the Tuolumne County Alliance for Resources and Environment (TuCARE)!** 🌲

This Fourth of July, we celebrate not only the freedoms we cherish, but also the incredible landscapes that make our nation—and Tuolumne County—so special.

Our forests, rivers, wildlife, and working lands are part of America's heritage. Caring for them through responsible stewardship helps ensure they remain healthy, resilient, and productive for future generations to enjoy.

As you spend time outdoors with family and friends this holiday, we encourage everyone to recreate responsibly, practice fire safety, pack out what you pack in, and do your part to protect the natural beauty that makes our community home.

From all of us at TuCARE, thank you for supporting the people, lands, and natural resources that sustain our way of life.

Have a safe, joyful, and Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸🌲💚

Today, TuCARE honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a time to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything to protect our freedoms.

From all of us at TuCARE, we wish you a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Yesterday TuCARE participated in the annual Groveland Ag Day at the Pine Mountain Lake Equestrian Center. It was a great event for schools to come and learn from these natural resources and ag specialists!

No, the Forest Service isn’t being dismantled. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Our mission continues, our teams remain dedicated, and our motto endures: “Caring for the Land and Serving People.”

We understand and appreciate the support from those who care about these lands as much as we do.

Here are the facts:
• We are moving headquarters west to Salt Lake City to be closer to the 90% of the lands we manage.
• We are shifting staff capacity out from behind desks and into the forests and districts that are desperately understaffed.
• No lands are being transferred or sold to states.
• State directors will be career employees, not political appointees.
• Our research programs and activities continue.
• Our forest and district offices remain unchanged.
• Our fire program remains unchanged.
