more parts for the XT 250 All Terrain Motorcycle. The guards for the chain and the drive components . and the assembly on the right of the picture of chains and sprockets is the U joint drive shaft complete with bearings, overrunning clutch , over torque clutch and U joint in the center. Everything in the drive system is simple.

I need a new chain guard for the new XT250 and the best ones are made out of HMWPE but it does not mold very well.  ABS ...

I need a new chain guard for the new XT250 and the best ones are made out of HMWPE but it does not mold very well. ABS is very easy to vacumn mold but HMWPE is very difficult. this is the first time I was able to do a two dimensional forming. To do it I needed to make a mold that had a male and female mold. and these are the results. I was able to make a 1 1/2 vertical wall.

FYI  the fork alone has 23 separate pieces welded together with 4 thicknesses of 4140 for just  the main leg of .060, .0...

FYI the fork alone has 23 separate pieces welded together with 4 thicknesses of 4140 for just the main leg of .060, .080, .090, .120, the weight of the fork is 10.5 lbs. and is still too strong as we have never bent anything with a number of severe head on crashes.

we have been working on lots of small parts and will be starting final (hopefully) assembly of the front suspension the next week or two.

this is a picture of the handlebars and steering arm on the bike checking on exactly how we will run the wiring and controls.
