EDISON!!

Today in : Thomas Edison invited investors and the public to see the light bulb demonstrated on December 31, 1879 in his Menlo Park laboratories (Menlo Park is a section of what is now Edison Township, ). This was not his first bulb. Originally he used a platinum filament. But platinum was too expensive for mass production. By late December 1879, he settled on a carbon filament, which was inexpensive and provided adequate bulb life.
