🚐✨ 2018 ESCAPE 21 TRAVEL TRAILER — A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT PROPER RV CARE CAN LOOK LIKE! ✨🚐

At Inside Out RV LLC, we work on RVs of all ages, makes, and models, and every once in a while, one comes into our shop that really stands out!

This beautiful 2018 Escape 21 travel trailer is one of those RVs!

We have to give the owner some serious credit for how well they’ve taken care of this trailer. 👏

For a 2018 model, this RV is in exceptionally beautiful condition! We honestly don’t see many RVs from this year that are this clean and well-preserved.

And there’s a very good reason for that!

🏡 THE OWNER PROPERLY STORES THIS RV INDOORS, AWAY FROM THE WEATHER ELEMENTS!

That means less exposure to constant rain, UV rays, snow, falling debris, and the seasonal weather conditions we experience here in the Pacific Northwest.

Proper indoor storage can make a tremendous difference in how an RV ages, especially when combined with regular maintenance.

THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF CARE WE LOVE TO SEE FROM RV OWNERS! ❤️

But here’s something important:

🚨 EVEN AN RV THIS WELL MAINTAINED STILL NEEDS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE!

Despite its exceptional overall condition, this Escape 21 still needed attention to its roof sealants and wastewater plumbing system.

💦 ROOF RESEALING — DONE THE RIGHT WAY!

We removed the old roof caulking where necessary, properly prepared the surfaces, and installed new, appropriate RV sealants around critical roof components and pe*******ons.

We don’t believe in simply piling new caulking over deteriorating material and hoping for the best!

Proper preparation, product selection, and application are essential to protecting an RV for the long haul.

🚽 GRAY & BLACK WATER SYSTEM REPAIRS!

We also performed important maintenance and repairs underneath the trailer:

✅ Replaced the gray and black water tank dump valve assemblies.

✅ Installed the necessary plumbing fittings and connections.

✅ Tested the valves multiple times to verify proper operation and check for leaks.

✅ Reinsulated the repaired underbelly areas with spray foam.

✅ Applied a protective black finish to the repaired insulation.

WHY ARE WE SHARING THIS RV?

Because this is a wonderful example of an owner who takes pride in protecting their investment!

Even though this trailer has been exceptionally well cared for and stored indoors, the owner understands that maintenance is still necessary.

And that is something we wish more RV owners understood!

INDOOR STORAGE HELPS PROTECT YOUR RV, BUT IT DOES NOT ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR MAINTENANCE!

Sealants age. Plumbing components wear out. Screws, fittings, roof pe*******ons, and exterior seals still need to be inspected.

Whether your RV is brand new or nearly a decade old, proper care makes a difference.

🛡️ AT INSIDE OUT RV LLC, WE DON’T JUST INSTALL IT. WE TAKE STEPS TO PROTECT IT!

We take pride in treating every RV as an investment worth protecting, using appropriate materials, proper repair procedures, and thorough testing.

A huge thank-you to the owner of this beautiful 2018 Escape 21 for trusting us with their RV!

KEEP TAKING CARE OF IT THE WAY YOU HAVE BEEN — IT CERTAINLY SHOWS! ❤️

🚨 BRAND NEW RV OR USED RV — IT DOESN’T MATTER! WATER DAMAGE DOESN’T DISCRIMINATE! 🚨

💦 YOUR RV NEEDS PROPER SEALANT INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE FROM THE DAY YOU BUY IT!

At Inside Out RV LLC, we have spent years repairing RVs with extensive water damage. We’ve seen rotted floors, damaged walls, deteriorated slide-outs, delamination, and structural damage that can cost RV owners THOUSANDS of dollars to repair.

And you know what’s frustrating?

A LOT OF THIS DAMAGE COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED!

So many of these expensive repairs started with something as simple as deteriorated caulking, an improperly sealed window, a leaking gutter rail, loose screws, or a small opening around an exterior component.

Something that could have been caught and corrected before water ever had the opportunity to cause serious damage.

🏕️ JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW RV? PLEASE READ THIS!

One of the biggest misconceptions in the RV industry is that a brand-new RV doesn’t need its sealants inspected or maintained.

WRONG!

Just because your RV rolled off the manufacturer’s assembly line doesn’t mean every seal, seam, window, roof pe*******on, gutter rail, or slide-out is properly protected.

We’ve seen factory sealant applications with problems, missing sealant, improperly sealed components, and areas that should have received more attention during manufacturing.

And here’s something many RV owners don’t realize:

⚠️ MANUFACTURERS AND DEALERSHIPS GENERALLY PLACE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ROUTINE SEALANT INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE ON THE RV OWNER FROM THE DAY OF PURCHASE!

Yes, even when your RV is brand new!

Read your owner’s manual and warranty information. Many manufacturers require regular inspections of roof sealants, windows, exterior seams, and other areas susceptible to water intrusion.

Failing to follow those maintenance requirements can affect warranty coverage.

Don’t assume that because your RV is under warranty, every water intrusion repair will automatically be covered!

🔧 PROPER RV SEALING IS MORE THAN JUST SQUEEZING CAULK OUT OF A TUBE!

At Inside Out RV, we believe in doing things correctly the first time.

✅ Using the proper sealants for the specific materials and applications.

✅ Removing failed or deteriorated sealant when necessary instead of simply covering it up.

✅ Inspecting roof seams, corner moldings, gutter rails, windows, doors, exterior fixtures, and slide-outs.

✅ Checking for missing or improperly installed sealing materials.

✅ Inspecting screws, fasteners, and mounting hardware for corrosion, looseness, and possible moisture exposure.

✅ Identifying potential water intrusion before it turns into structural damage.

✅ Following manufacturer recommendations and proper preparation procedures.

NOT ALL CAULKING PRODUCTS ARE CREATED EQUAL!

Using the wrong sealant can create additional problems, including adhesion failures, material incompatibility, and premature deterioration.

And putting new sealant over failing, contaminated, or improperly prepared surfaces isn’t necessarily fixing anything!

🚨 DON’T BELIEVE US? TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THESE PHOTOS! 🚨

These are real examples of the things we come across while working on RVs at Inside Out RV LLC!

Look closely at what you’re seeing.

💦 Deteriorated, cracking, and separating sealant.

💦 Openings around exterior trim and slide-out components where water can potentially enter.

💦 Areas where old sealant has failed and is no longer providing the protection it should.

🔩 AND PLEASE, DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE SCREWS!

Here’s something many RV owners don’t realize:

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR SCREWS AND FASTENERS!

When we remove exterior trim, slide-out components, windows, or other parts, we pay attention to the condition of the screws.

Why?

Because rusty or corroded screws can be an early warning sign of moisture exposure behind exterior surfaces!

Rust doesn’t automatically mean you have structural damage, but it is absolutely something that should be investigated.

Water can travel behind trim, along screws, through improperly sealed fastener holes, and into areas you cannot see.

YOUR RV CAN LOOK ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE WHILE WATER DAMAGE IS DEVELOPING UNDERNEATH!

That’s why we don’t just look at the exterior caulking and call it good.

We inspect the areas where water can enter, and when necessary, investigate what is happening behind the components.

And here’s another important thing:

JUST BECAUSE SOMEBODY PUT CAULKING ON IT DOESN’T MEAN THEY SEALED IT CORRECTLY!

Proper preparation, product selection, adhesion, and application are extremely important.

💰 PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE IS FAR LESS EXPENSIVE THAN REBUILDING A ROTTED RV!

We cannot tell you how many RVs we’ve worked on over the years where a relatively small maintenance issue turned into a major repair because water intrusion went unnoticed.

We’ve worked on RVs that needed entire slide-out floors rebuilt, structural components replaced, damaged walls repaired, and extensive water intrusion corrections.

And many of these situations could have been avoided with proper inspections and maintenance.

OUR ADVICE TO EVERY RV OWNER:

Whether you’re purchasing a $15,000 used travel trailer or a $200,000 brand-new motorhome, have the entire exterior sealing system professionally inspected as soon as you take ownership.

If something needs to be resealed, get it corrected with the proper products and procedures.

Don’t wait until you see water dripping inside.

Don’t wait until your floor feels soft.

Don’t wait until your walls start delaminating.

BY THE TIME YOU NOTICE WATER DAMAGE INSIDE YOUR RV, IT MAY HAVE BEEN DEVELOPING FOR MONTHS OR EVEN YEARS!

And remember, RV sealants require ongoing inspections and maintenance.

One resealing job does not mean your RV is protected forever.

Especially here in the Pacific Northwest, where rain, moisture, temperature changes, and seasonal weather conditions make preventative maintenance extremely important.

🛡️ AT INSIDE OUT RV LLC, WE DON’T JUST INSTALL IT. WE TAKE STEPS TO PROTECT IT!

We take pride in continuing our education, maintaining relationships with manufacturers, using appropriate products, and following proper repair procedures.

We’re not interested in just making something look sealed.

We want to help protect your investment for the long haul.

YOUR RV IS AN INVESTMENT. PROTECT IT FROM DAY ONE!

And please remember:

THE MOST EXPENSIVE RV REPAIR IS OFTEN THE ONE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED!

A LITTLE THROWBACK FROM 10 YEARS AGO!

Here’s a fun project we had the opportunity to help with about 10 years ago!

Not your everyday RV, that’s for sure! 😁

One of the things I’ve always loved about this industry is that no two projects are exactly alike. From custom fabrication and restoration to troubleshooting and rebuilding, there’s always something new to learn and a challenge to overcome.

Projects like this remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about repairing RVs. It’s about craftsmanship, creativity, problem-solving, and taking pride in the work.

Experience isn’t something you get overnight. It’s built over years of getting your hands dirty, learning, and working on all kinds of projects.

Fast-forward 10 years, and that same passion for learning, quality workmanship, and doing things right continues today at Inside Out RV LLC.

We’re always learning, always improving, and never afraid of a unique challenge!

Hey you! Yes you!

JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS A CERTIFIED RV TECHNICIAN DOESN’T MEAN THEY’RE DOING THE JOB CORRECTLY!

Something happened today at Inside Out RV LLC that reminded me exactly why hands-on experience, continuing education, manufacturer relationships, and proper training are so important in this industry.

I was training a new technician and decided to pull up a YouTube video from a very popular RV technician who teaches people how to perform repairs.

I figured it would be a great learning opportunity.

Well, it certainly was! 😂

I found myself repeatedly pausing the video and telling my new technician, “That is NOT how you do that!”

From questionable product choices to repair techniques that didn’t align with the procedures we’ve been trained to follow, I couldn’t believe some of the information being presented as professional advice.

And here’s what concerns me most:

Thousands of RV owners and even other technicians may watch these videos, trust the information, and repeat those same mistakes.

Just because someone has a certification, a large YouTube following, or years in the industry doesn’t automatically mean they’re following the correct procedures.

🔧 Experience matters.

🔧 Manufacturer specifications matter.

🔧 Product knowledge and compatibility matter.

🔧 Proper preparation and installation matter.

🔧 Continuing education matters.

🔧 Relationships with manufacturers matter.

🏭 WE GO DIRECTLY TO THE MANUFACTURERS!

At Inside Out RV, we take things a step further.

We have built direct relationships with manufacturer representatives throughout the RV industry, including contacts in parts, technical support, sales, distribution, and warranty departments.

We maintain contact information for representatives across the companies and products we work with.

When we have a technical question, need clarification on a product, or encounter an unusual repair situation, we don’t have to rely solely on YouTube videos, internet forums, or someone else’s opinion.

We can go directly to the people who manufacture, develop, distribute, and support these products.

That is something we take tremendous pride in!

We regularly invest our own time and money traveling to training events, meeting manufacturer representatives, learning about new products, and staying current with industry developments.

And here’s something I tell my technicians:

Don’t blindly believe me, either! Ask questions, understand WHY something is done a certain way, and learn how to verify the correct procedures.

We aren’t interested in shortcuts, temporary patches, or doing something just because it’s faster or cheaper.

🛡️ WE DON’T JUST INSTALL IT. WE TAKE STEPS TO PROTECT IT!

Another thing that separates Inside Out RV is our attention to long-term protection.

Depending on the repair or installation, we take additional steps that may include applying protective coatings, sealing exposed materials, protecting vulnerable areas from moisture intrusion, and addressing potential problems before they become expensive failures.

Whether we’re rebuilding a slide-out floor, installing new components, replacing damaged materials, or performing exterior repairs, we think beyond the day the RV leaves our shop.

How will this repair hold up through years of Pacific Northwest rain, road vibration, temperature changes, moisture, and everyday use?

That’s the question we ask ourselves.

We don’t believe in simply installing something and calling it finished when additional protection is appropriate.

We evaluate the materials, installation requirements, environmental exposure, and manufacturer recommendations to determine what protection is needed.

The little details that customers may never see are often some of the most important parts of a quality repair.

Sometimes that means additional protective coatings, extra preparation, more labor, or using materials that cost more upfront.

But those details matter!

💪 WE BUILD AND REPAIR FOR LONG-TERM RELIABILITY, NOT SHORT-TERM CONVENIENCE!

There’s a big difference between making something look repaired today and performing a repair designed to hold up for years.

We believe in identifying the underlying problem, choosing the correct materials, properly preparing surfaces, protecting vulnerable components, and completing repairs according to the appropriate procedures.

Sometimes that means telling a customer that a quick fix isn’t the right solution.

We would rather do a job correctly than sell someone a temporary solution that we know isn’t going to last.

We don’t want to keep repairing the same problem over and over because someone took a shortcut the first time.

Our goal is to address the underlying issue and provide a solution designed for long-term reliability.

🎓 EXPERIENCE DOESN’T MEAN YOU STOP LEARNING!

Are we perfect? Absolutely not. Nobody is.

But we’re willing to keep learning, ask manufacturers questions, correct mistakes, and improve our workmanship.

That’s what separates a technician who simply knows how to replace parts from someone who understands the systems they’re working on.

A certification can demonstrate training and knowledge, but it doesn’t replace years of hands-on experience, sound judgment, or the willingness to keep learning.

And years of experience don’t mean much if someone refuses to adapt when products, technology, and manufacturer procedures change.

At Inside Out RV LLC, we believe education and experience should work together.

❤️ YOUR RV IS AN INVESTMENT. WE TREAT IT LIKE ONE!

Our goal isn’t to be the cheapest repair shop.

Our goal is to provide quality workmanship, appropriate materials, additional protection where needed, long-term solutions, and repairs we can confidently stand behind.

We want our customers to understand what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and what makes a properly performed repair different from a temporary patch.

We don’t believe in half measures.

We believe in doing the job right, protecting what we install, continuing our education, and standing behind our workmanship.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about getting your RV out the door. It’s about how well that repair holds up long after it leaves our shop.

📍 Inside Out RV LLC — Snohomish, Washington

Experience. Education. Manufacturer Relationships. Quality Materials. Protective Coatings. Integrity. Long-Term Reliability.

A Healthy RV Is Something We Often Take for Granted!

Every mile traveled, every adventure enjoyed, and every night spent comfortably in your RV is something to appreciate.

We often don’t think twice about our roof keeping the rain out, our plumbing working properly, our electrical systems functioning, or our slide-outs operating smoothly.

That is, until something stops working.

Just like our bodies, RVs need attention, preventative care, and regular maintenance to keep functioning properly.

Small problems that go unnoticed today can turn into expensive repairs tomorrow. Water intrusion, deteriorating sealants, neglected roof maintenance, and improperly operating slide-outs can cause damage long before you realize something is wrong.

At Inside Out RV LLC, we believe in doing more than just fixing what’s broken. We believe in educating RV owners, identifying potential problems early, and helping protect their investment for the long haul.

❤️ Take care of your RV before it gives you a reason to wish you had.

Because the best RV adventures are the ones where you’re making memories, not dealing with preventable breakdowns.

❤️ A Little Something Personal From Behind the Scenes at Inside Out RV

Yesterday, I traveled down to Portland, Oregon, for another industry training and business event. Continuing my education and building relationships with manufacturers is something I take very seriously.

But before attending my work events, I had a much more important stop to make. ❤️

Growing up, I used to clean my grandma’s windows. Yesterday, instead of cleaning her windows, I had the honor of cleaning her gravestone.

I won’t lie, there were plenty of tears.

I would give just about anything to be cleaning those windows again, knowing she was still there.

My grandma taught me so much about life, love, kindness, and the importance of family. Those lessons are part of who I am today, both personally and professionally.

Running a business can consume your life if you let it. There are always more customers to help, more RVs to repair, more training to attend, and more work waiting.

But I’ve learned that success means very little if we forget the people who helped us become who we are.

At Inside Out RV, we’re a small business built around more than just repairing RVs. We believe in treating people with respect, standing behind our workmanship, continuing to learn, and remembering what truly matters in life.

I wanted to share this because behind every business is a human being with a story, a family, and people they love and miss.

Grandma, thank you for everything you taught me. I may not be able to clean your windows anymore, but I’ll always make sure your resting place is cared for with love. ❤️

Family first. Integrity always. Never stop learning.

Good morning from Portland, Oregon! 🚐🔧

Today, Inside Out RV is attending the Laurelhurst RV open house and training event!

One thing we’ve noticed so far? We haven’t met another RV repair professional from Washington yet!

We believe being a great RV technician means never stopping your education. The RV industry is constantly evolving, with new products, materials, technology, and repair procedures.

That’s why we’re willing to travel, attend training events, meet directly with industry professionals, and build relationships with manufacturers and distributors.

There’s a difference between simply repairing RVs and investing in the knowledge to repair them correctly.

We don’t believe a certification alone means someone has mastered their trade. Experience, continued education, proper procedures, and a willingness to keep learning all matter.

Our customers deserve that commitment.

🚨 RV OWNERS — NOT ALL INSURANCE COVERAGE IS CREATED EQUAL! 🚨

Something we believe every RV owner should understand BEFORE they ever have to file an insurance claim.

The cheapest insurance policy isn’t always the best policy. And the cheapest repair isn’t always the right repair.

At Inside Out RV LLC, we’ve seen firsthand how important it is to have an insurance company that understands RV construction, proper repair procedures, and the importance of qualified technicians.

Here’s something to think about:

When your RV suffers roof damage, water intrusion, structural damage, or another major issue, who do you want repairing it?

🔧 An experienced RV technician who understands the construction, materials, proper preparation, and manufacturer-recommended repair procedures?

OR

💰 A repair facility selected primarily because it submitted a lower estimate?

Those are not necessarily the same thing.

RV roof replacements are not simply a matter of tearing off old roofing material and installing something new. There are structural considerations, moisture inspections, proper preparation, compatible materials, sealing procedures, and workmanship standards that can determine whether a repair lasts or creates additional problems down the road.

We’ve inspected and repaired RVs after previous repairs were performed incorrectly. Unfortunately, correcting poor workmanship can sometimes cost more than doing the job properly the first time.

Here’s our advice to every RV owner:

✅ Don’t choose insurance based on monthly premiums alone.

✅ Ask how your insurance company handles RV repairs and whether you can select your own qualified repair facility.

✅ Understand the difference between an insurance company’s preferred repair facility and a facility with specialized RV repair experience.

✅ Ask about OEM parts, approved materials, labor rates, warranties, and repair procedures.

✅ Review your policy before you need to file a claim.

✅ Don’t assume the lowest repair estimate represents the same quality or scope of work.

We also encourage RV owners to research companies that specialize in RV coverage. We’ve had positive experiences with Progressive and believe they’re worth considering when shopping for RV insurance. Every policy and claim is different, so always review the actual coverage.

At Inside Out RV, we don’t believe in cutting corners to win a job.

We’re certified, continually invest in manufacturer and product-specific training, and take pride in understanding the materials and systems we’re working with.

We would rather lose a job than compromise our workmanship or install something we don’t believe will hold up.

Your RV is a significant investment. Whether it’s a weekend getaway vehicle or your full-time home, it deserves to be repaired correctly.

Remember: Insurance is supposed to protect your investment. Make sure you understand what you’re paying for before something goes wrong.

BEING RV CERTIFIED IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

At Inside Out RV, our training goes well beyond standard RV technician certification.

We pursue additional training directly with the manufacturers and representatives behind the professional heavy-duty products and systems we use, and we stay in contact with them as products and procedures continue to change.

That’s important because there’s a big difference between simply purchasing what’s available through an RV parts supplier and actually being trained by the people who manufacture the products you’re working with.

We don’t choose products because they’re the easiest thing to order or because “that’s what the RV industry has always used.” We choose our repair methods and materials based on training, application, and what we believe will provide the best long-term result—especially in the harsh Pacific Northwest environment.

Certification gives you a foundation. Continuing education, manufacturer training, and real-world experience are what you build on top of it.

That’s one of the standards we’ve built Inside Out RV around.

TIRED OF FIGHTING YOUR RV SLIDE-OUT?

If your RV is equipped with an in-wall slide system and you’re dealing with repeated failures, worn components, binding, alignment problems, or you’re simply tired of wondering when it’s going to fail again — there may be a better option.

Inside Out RV LLC is proud to offer Vroom Slide System conversions in Western Washington.

Vroom is a heavy-duty replacement slide-out system designed as an alternative for many RVs equipped with Schwintek/In-Wall and other compatible slide systems.

Instead of continuing the cycle of replacing worn components and waiting for the next failure, a Vroom conversion replaces the existing mechanism with a system designed around:

🔧 Heavy-duty components
⚙️ Smoother, more consistent operation
🛠️ Serviceability
📐 Proper slide-room alignment and setup
💪 Long-term reliability

But a Vroom conversion isn’t simply a matter of removing one system and bolting another one in.

We inspect the slide room, take the required measurements, check alignment and structure, and identify issues that could interfere with proper operation before completing the conversion.

At Inside Out RV LLC, we’re not interested in repeatedly band-aiding a slide system that has already demonstrated it isn’t reliable for your RV.

We want to give RV owners a better alternative.
