Meet Chad Collins — Shop Lead
If there’s one thing that defines **Chad Collins**, it’s that he’ll do everything he can to help.
At the office, in the shop, at the lake, on a holiday, or even late at night—Chad has built a reputation for **answering the phone when others won’t**. Customer service isn’t just part of his job; it’s a big part of how he approaches the marine business. If someone needs help, he’s going to try to find a way.
As Shop Lead, Chad’s knowledge goes far beyond just engines. **He understands the entire boat.** From basic maintenance and diagnostics to major mechanical repairs, engine rebuilds and repowers, sterndrives, pumps, transom reseals, shafts, packings, seals, props, open and closed cooling systems, freshwater and black-water systems, generators, 12-volt and 115-volt electrical systems, gauges, electronics, steering, DTS and joystick systems—he’s comfortable tackling the complicated stuff. He also handles outboard installation and rigging, PWC repair and tuning, trailer repair, and much more.
Chad is just as comfortable **behind the wheel as he is holding a wrench**. From smaller boats to large cruisers, he can operate, load, unload, pickup, and deliver just about anything that comes through the shop.
He’s also the guy you want when the part you need seems impossible to find. **Parts identification, cross-referencing, and tracking down hard-to-find components** are another big part of what he brings to the team.
But maybe the most important thing about Chad is that **he doesn’t pretend to know everything**. The marine industry changes every year, and when he runs into something he hasn’t seen before, he’ll sit down, research it, learn it, and figure it out. He looks at the whole problem and works toward an answer he can stand behind.
**Boats are complicated. The person working on yours shouldn’t be afraid to keep learning. Chad never is.**
