I just don’t get it. I run an honest business, have amazing employees, amazing clients, do good work, and yet get stolen from. Last night I had $2,200 charged back to my account from a new customer that used a stolen credit card. Every once in a while we get to do a unique repair on a vehicle that is note worthy. We had a Toyota hybrid towed to the shop that would not move due to an engine prioblem. Since the engine did not run the vehicle ran in hybrid battery until it was depleted. We were able to diagnose and repair the engine problem, however this particular model does not have an engine starter, it uses the hybrid system to start the engine, but the running engine is what charges the hybrid battery… so we were stuck. With no way to charge the battery, we could not start the engine. Without the engine running the hybrid battery won’t charge. The fix from Toyota is to replace the bathery (over $5,000 for the battery alone). We disassembled the battery and added a charging system into the vehicle making it a plug in hybrid. This will add life to the hybrid battery and also give means of charging it in the event of another engine problem (in this case the fuel pump quite working). This total repair was a fraction of the cost to get this Prius back on the road!
