I just don’t get it. I run an honest business, have amazing employees, amazing clients, do good work, and yet get stolen from. Last night I had $2,200 charged back to my account from a new customer that used a stolen credit card. Every once in a while we get to do a unique repair on a vehicle that is note worthy. We had a Toyota hybrid towed to the shop that would not move due to an engine prioblem. Since the engine did not run the vehicle ran in hybrid battery until it was depleted. We were able to diagnose and repair the engine problem, however this particular model does not have an engine starter, it uses the hybrid system to start the engine, but the running engine is what charges the hybrid battery… so we were stuck. With no way to charge the battery, we could not start the engine. Without the engine running the hybrid battery won’t charge. The fix from Toyota is to replace the bathery (over $5,000 for the battery alone). We disassembled the battery and added a charging system into the vehicle making it a plug in hybrid. This will add life to the hybrid battery and also give means of charging it in the event of another engine problem (in this case the fuel pump quite working). This total repair was a fraction of the cost to get this Prius back on the road!

While we love the work we do, Auto Dynamics feels very strongly about giving back to the community. Part of that is supporting local non-profit organizations. This past Monday we sponsored two golf teams for Face It Together, a local non-profit dedicated to solving addiction. This was their annual fund raiser to help cover expenses for peer coaching toward recovery of addiction. We invited some of our favorite customers to represent us (SD Highway Patrol, Lincoln County Sherrif, and some of of the best people we have ever met!). It looks like they had fun! And I got to heckle them on hole number 8, where I was able to greet all of the players! Thank you Mark, Keven, Isaac and Mathew for representing one team, and Scot, Scott, Chuck and Micheal for representing our other team!
Please get out there and support a good local non-profit… and if you need help, let me suggest Face It Together!
