Checking your hitch before towing

✅ Make sure the hitch is secure to the vehicle - Free of any cracks, rust or loose parts
✅ Ensure your reciever is the right length for what you are pulling and your vehicle
✅ Check the ball and coupler are the same size

Get your trailer wiring inspected

While doing your yearly maintenance make sure to check the wiring:

Here are the steps we recommend you take:
✅ Visually check all wiring
✅ Run your hands along the wires
✅ Check for any breakage
✅ Check for pinched wires
✅ Ensure all lights and other electrical components on your trailer are fully functional

Pictured below is a pinched section of wiring we ran into this week. When it was cut open, the yellow wire was clearly damaged.

How to properly check your trailer lights:

Checking your trailer lights is an essential part of hooking up your trailer.

Here are the steps we recommend you take:
✅ Plug in the trailer cord to your vehicle
✅ Check all running lights
✅ Make sure both blinkers are fuctioning
✅ Press brake pedal and ensure the brake lights are working

These steps are helpful if you complete it with a partner.
