Shell Shocked was running better than ever… so naturally, with only 23 days until Summernats, I tore the engine apart. 😅

After three or four bottom ends and more overheating than I can count, these heads are one of the only things that have never been checked. Huge thanks to High Pressure Automotive Solutions for covering the inspection and machining—and for also helping the service truck with injectors and exhaust gaskets. That kind of support means more than you know!

Now we find out whether this was unnecessary work—or exactly what Shell Shocked needs to survive two minutes under boost. 🔥

Someone asked what keeps Shell Shocked’s transmission cool during those long burnouts—here’s the setup. Two coolers, each with its own electric fan, connected with AN fittings and braided lines. After finding milky fluid, I’m checking every possible entry point before she runs again.

I thought Shell Shocked’s transmission was done—turns out two destroyed O-rings dumped the fluid and left her stranded. Hopefully the transmission survived, because with only 23 days until Summernats, I’ve already moved on to the next problem… and pulled both heads off. 😬 Follow along to see why.

Everybody keeps saying “just use cardboard” or “use a yoga mat”… but that completely misses the reason I keep grabbing this creeper. 😂 After actually using it on jobs, being able to slide and reposition without doing the mechanic shuffle is the part that sold me.
