Living Quarters horse trailer…… both tanks leaking. Customer stated gray has been seeping for awhile, tried an epoxy and didn’t help. Black tank cracked from a very hard to operate valve. Replacing both tanks, expensive job! I believe the tanks got weakened and cracked because the valves were extremely hard to open and close putting a lot of pressure on tanks when valves were being pulled and pushed. When those valves start getting tough it’s time to act before more damage is caused! A valve replacement may have saved the expense of tank replacement. I will be installing all new tanks and plumbing and positioning the valves a bit further from the tanks and using mounts on the plumbing to support it while opening and closing to keep any pressure from being transferred to the tanks.

AC not keeping up in your living quarter horse trailer? A nice reflective coat helps immensely while also providing insurance against water leaks.

Fixed one of my best customers entry steps, they went on a trip and the rear steps went out while they were gone. Easy fix as the magnetic switch was bad. Another happy customer.

Replaced old Norcold 1210 with a Frigidaire 18.3 cf residential. Old 1210 sat above a cabinet so tore it out, set new refer on floor and built cabinet above. Came out pretty nice.

I had to post this one! This is what mice and rats will do to your rv. You’re looking at over thousand dollars in damage on a very nice travel trailer. Not the owners fault. It happened in storage. It happens, but the results are devastating. I have tried many things to repel them, even the “holy grail” Grandpa Gus. I haven’t found anything that truly works. I spent the entire day today working in Ratville!

Been awhile since we’ve posted. We’ve been super busy as business never slowed down over the winter like it usually does. We stayed incredibly busy all winter. That’s not a bad thing! Here’s a few pics from our latest flooring job. This living quarters horse trailer was a disaster. Had to rebuild the subfloor and all new flooring. Looking good as new again!

About a 2” crack in shower pan. Not a perfect match but will prevent water damage. A new pan for this one was going to be almost $1000 including shipping plus labor. Customer opted for repair. The way we repair them is plastiweld while lacing steel wool into the weld for strength. Then an overlay of marine grade epoxy. It’s almost impossible to match the finish but the functionality is 100%. If manufacturers would build proper support under these the problem would never occur.

Another furnace intruder. Shouldn’t happen again. Screens are cheap and furnace repairs are expensive.

Another living quarters horse trailer with water damage. Bathroom vent was leaking bad. You have to stay on top of this stuff! Rebuilt section of floor and layed LVP. Removed vent, rebuilt vent frame and skylight frame and rebuilt ceiling. This one is looking nice. Maybe another few hours and the customer gets it back.

Customer complained of a propane smell every time their furnace kicked on. My propane detector went nuts as soon as the furnace kicked on. They got a new furnace. This could possibly be fixed but I wouldn’t chance it. The screw holes holding the heat exchanger to the furnace body were rusty and screws came out allowing unburned propane and carbon monoxide to mix with the forced air in the ducts. Husband said he never smelled it but wife insisted furnace not be run until I checked it out. Smart move! They got a new furnace and this one is going out with the scrap.

This was a 2006 model Atwood furnace.
