๐ ๐น๐ถ๐๐๐น๐ฒ ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ ๐๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐๐๐ผ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟโฆ
To say life has been a little busy around here would be an understatement. Between the shop, graduations, softball fields, college move-in, new schools and everything in between, we blinked and somehow summer was over.
Luke graduated from SCCโฆand THEN graduated from SECHS. Backwards, right?! ๐๐
We spent the summer trying to soak up every moment we could with him before the day weโd been pretending wasnโt comingโฆdropping him off at his new home-away-from-home, Appalachian State. ๐๐ค
Itโs been a HUGE adjustment for us. We miss him like crazy, but heโs doing great in Boone, finding his way, and starting this next chapter of his life. Weโre incredibly proud of him.
As for a big family vacation this summer? YeahโฆMPโs softball schedule said absolutely not. ๐๐ฅ
Instead, we continued doing what we love, chasing her from field to field, town to town and state to state. Everybody watches womenโs sportsโฆ especially in this household. ๐
And somewhere in the middle of all that softball, she started HIGH SCHOOL. Another big adjustment around here! Sheโs officially an Eagle and already busy paving her own path. ๐ฆ
And then thereโs the boss manโฆJunior. ๐
Micheal Paul had the absolute BEST summer after a wonderful ending to his third-grade year. He slept for about a weekโฆand after that, Iโm pretty sure he didnโt waste a single second of daylight. ๐
Now heโs started FOURTH GRADE.
HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?!
He and Paul also got to take a flight together for Fatherโs Day, which made for a pretty special memory for both of them. โ๏ธ
Speaking of Paul, heโs been busy growing as a business owner, completing the training required for his military rank promotion and continuing to work alongside our team to make Hutchens Auto Repair the best it can be. Heโs worked on some cool cars, solved a few, โNo one can tell me whatโs wrong!โ And he beamed with pride while training MP to take over Lukeโs role in the shop.
He stays focused on improving the shop, supporting our team and making sure we continue taking care of our customers the right way.
But donโt let him fool youโฆhe was down for a couple of weeks after dropping his firstborn off at college. ๐
And while all of that has been happening at home, Meagan and I have stayed just as committed to being present and involved in the community that has loved our family and this business so well.
Between festivals, back-to-school events, civic club community meals, PTO meetings and all the other ways weโve been able to show up, weโve been reminded again and again how special this community is. We remain committed to giving back, staying involved and standing firm in our promise to support the people who have supported us from the beginning.
Also, in June, Meagan celebrated one full year out of the corporate world! ๐
One year of trading corporate life for family life, community involvement, softball schedules, school events, shop life and all the beautiful chaos that comes with it. ๐
I think sheโd agree that it has been busy, occasionally exhausting and completely worth it. Weโre incredibly thankful she gets to spend more time doing the things and being with the people that matter most.
So yesโฆthings look a little different around here these days.
The shop is a little quieter without the kids coming and going like they used to. Weโre learning a new normal, adjusting to new routines, and realizing just how quickly these seasons of life change.
But one thing that hasnโt changed is how grateful we are.
Our bays are full. Our days are busy. Our family is growing and changing. And somehow, in the middle of all the beautiful chaos, we still get to wake up every day and live the ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฏ๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ด๐ผ.
Hutchens Auto Repair has always been ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฎ ๐ฏ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐. Itโs part of our familyโs story. And so many of you have watched our kids grow up right alongside this shop.
